Selling Sunset’s Mary Bonnet Gives Update on Her Fertility Journey

As a dedicated follower, I find Mary Bonnet‘s journey to be both inspiring and heartfelt. Her courage to share her personal struggles with infertility, health issues, and her professional life on Selling Sunset is commendable. She has shown an incredible ability to persevere through adversity, which is truly remarkable at 44 years old.

Mary Bonnet isn’t sure what the next chapter will be in her fertility journey.

Nevertheless, the star of Selling Sunset, who published her debut book Selling Sunshine with Harper Collins on September 24, is aware that she and her husband Romain Bonnet, whom she’s been married to for six years, are in agreement about navigating their future as a team.

In a private conversation with TopMob News, Mary admitted that she doesn’t have a clue about the final result because things are unfolding as they may. With her hands full managing a book project and juggling the season, she’s been swamped lately. She understands that nothing favorable will transpire if she’s preoccupied and rushed.

The 44-year-old also noted she would need to undergo a procedure.

In her book, she described being diagnosed with a septate uterus, which means her uterus is split by a membrane into two sections. She explained, “I’ll require surgery,” followed by, “After the procedure, I’ll need time for recovery, healing, and then to start anew. In essence, I simply need time to go through that process.

For now, Mary is taking the time she needs to figure out what’s best for her and Romain.

As a lifestyle advisor, I find myself grappling with a significant decision that requires careful consideration. Time is a precious commodity in this case, and uncertainty looms as I ponder my future at the age of 44. Previous attempts to store embryos were unsuccessful, adding another layer of complexity to our dilemma. Consequently, I’m thoughtfully weighing all possible options to ensure the best possible outcome.

As Mary and Romain chart their path ahead, they are reassured by the unwavering love and backing of Austin – a man she shares a history with from her past relationship at age 15 – as well as their cherished canine companions.

The real estate agent mentioned that they have a pet cat named Thor, whom Romaine can’t get enough of. Previously, she had to part ways with dog Niko in the latest season of Selling Sunset, and also co-parents another dog, Zelda, with ex Jason Oppenheim. If things don’t work out, the agent reassured they’d be fine since they have their beloved pet and are deeply attached to it. They believe whatever is destined will eventually happen.

According to what Mary writes in her book, she chose to undergo embryo freezing during the break between seasons five and six of Selling Sunset, which took place in 2022.

She shared in ‘Selling Sunshine’ that initially, we had 15 eggs, quite a number. Out of these, ten were the suitable size. Seven of those ten were at the stage where they could be fertilized. Amazingly, three out of seven successfully went through fertilization. These three were then forwarded to the genetics lab for examination and analysis. However, in a heartbreaking twist, it was discovered a few days later that the three eggs which had endured most of the process were not normal. The doctor advised us to give my body some time to heal, after which, if we chose, we could go through the process again.

“A couple of months down the line, I found myself embarking on an exciting journey with Romain. We made a daring decision to conceive naturally during our enchanting getaway to Bali over the holiday season.

It appeared miraculous, but two weeks following our return from Bali, I discovered that I was expecting a child.

As I, a lifestyle expert, reflect back on early 2023, I can’t forget the exhilarating moment Mary and Romain discovered their positive pregnancy test, beautifully captured in season seven of Selling Sunset. The series also chronicled their heartwarming decision to share this joyous news with the entire cast. However, the following episodes took a heartbreaking turn when Mary experienced a pregnancy loss. In due time, she bravely disclosed that it was a septic miscarriage and required surgery.

In her book, Mary openly discusses various facets of her health, such as dealing with a ruptured breast implant, IBS, and ADHD. She opted to share her personal experiences to make others feel less isolated in their struggles.

In her conversation with TopMob, she expressed that when she shared her struggles with ADHD, IBS, and other personal matters, there was an overwhelming sense of support from others who felt similarly. They were grateful for her openness as it gave them courage to discuss their own issues.
