As a long-time fan of One Piece, I must say that the recent set photos and updates have sent me into a frenzy! The Rumbar Pirates are finally making their way onto our screens, and it’s about time! I remember when I first started reading the manga back in ’97, and those pirates were always a mystery to me. Now, they’re right there on the set, ready to sail into our hearts!
Currently, “One Piece” is experiencing a wave of popularity, with Netflix’s live-action adaptation playing a significant role. While the anime and manga are carrying most of the load, the team behind Netflix is tirelessly working on “One Piece” season two. Not too long ago, fans were given a sneak peek of what’s to come during Geeked Week, revealing lots of information about the series. More recently, additional details about the set have emerged for “One Piece”, and a new photograph has sparked excitement among fans as they spot some intriguing pirates.
The update comes from social media as One Piece fans got their hands on new set photos. It was there they spotted a familiar ship on the horizon, and no – we are not talking about the Going Merry. The ship pictured on set belongs to the Rumbar Pirates, and their flagship looks like it was taken straight from the manga.
Who Are the Rumbar Pirates?
You might be curious about who the Rumbar Pirates are, especially if you’re new to the world of One Piece. Indeed, the first season on Netflix didn’t delve into their crew. However, for fans familiar with Eiichiro Oda’s work, the Rumbar Pirates were an old sea-faring group. Initially led by York, they ventured deep into the Grand Line. Over time, the Rumbar Pirates switched between two ships and eventually had a new captain take over for York at the end. This second captain was none other than Brook, who plays a significant role in One Piece.

Regarding the Rumbar Pirates, they are introduced fairly quickly within the storyline of One Piece. Crocus introduces them during the Reverse Mountain arc when he discusses his friend Laboon with Luffy. The Rumbar Pirates made a promise to revisit Laboon, as their group had befriended the whale, and poor Laboon has been waiting for years to see his friends again. Although this scene is brief in the manga, it’s suggested that Netflix will explore the Rumbar Pirates further. This hints that we might catch a glimpse of Brook earlier in season two.
One Piece Season 2 Will Cover a Lot
If Netflix doesn’t have a chance to air Brook beforehand, don’t be taken aback since One Piece season two has plenty of storylines to explore. Oda has already mapped out the story arcs for One Piece season two, and we know it will commence in Loguetown. From Whiskey Peak to Little Garden, One Piece is set to continue its journey through the Drum Island arc before wrapping up season two. Netflix will end the series right before Luffy can genuinely confront Arabasta, but at least Tony Tony Chopper will have joined his crew by then!
To date, there’s no confirmed release date yet for “One Piece” season two, but fans anticipate its return in the year 2025. The original cast from season one will be back for season two, ensuring that the Straw Hat crew remains together. Additionally, a number of fresh talents are set to join the cast in season two. For example, Lera Abova has been chosen to play Miss All Sunday (Nico Robin), while Joe Manganiello will take on the role of Mr. 0 (Crocodile).
