What Is Joker 2 About?

In the movie “Folie à Deux,” Arthur Fleck, who is now institutionalized at Arkham while awaiting trial for his actions as the Joker, grapples with his two personas. Despite this internal turmoil, he unexpectedly discovers love and uncovers the music that had been hidden within him all along. The film also features acting heavyweights Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener, in addition to Zazie Beetz reprising her role from “Joker.

Previously, Beetz expressed that the film’s musical elements were perfectly fitting. She wasn’t taken aback by Todd’s innovative portrayal of the character because he has always had a knack for creative storytelling. Beetz is a fan of musicals, and she views them as a means for characters to express profound emotions that they can only sing or dance about – whether it’s sorrow or joy. Similarly, Beetz finds singing and dancing to be therapeutic, as it allows her to release intense feelings. At one point in her life, she was going through a challenging time, and she turned to dancing and crying by herself as a way to express herself. In light of this, she believes that Arthur, who is grappling with intense emotions, would also express himself through dance and song. As the Joker, she thinks it’s appropriate for him to do so.

Is Joker 2 in the DC Universe?

As a die-hard fan, I’d like to clarify that “Joker: Folie à Deux” falls under the category of DC Elseworlds productions, which means it doesn’t strictly adhere to the narrative continuity of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s upcoming DC Universe of films and TV shows exclusive to Max. Interestingly, in a recent post on Threads, Gunn shared that he did provide feedback on the completed footage for “Folie à Deux.” However, it’s essential to note that Gunn emphasized that the sequel to “Joker” is one of the few upcoming DC movies being overseen by Warner Bros. Pictures, given its development timeline.

At the point when we joined, Todd had already immersed himself deeply into “Joker”. I had seen it, provided feedback, but most of its development was done by Warner Bros., where it originated. From now on, in live-action projects, we are actively involved. (Gunn wrote this earlier)

Joker: Folie ? Deux will be released exclusively in theaters on Friday, October 4th.
