As a seasoned survivor of the post-apocalyptic wastelands, having spent countless hours navigating through the ruins of civilization in various VR titles, I can hardly contain my excitement for 4A Games’ Metro Awakening. The tantalizing glimpse into the dark, claustrophobic underworld of the metro has me yearning to don my virtual reality gear once more and step into the boots of Dr. Serdar in search of his missing wife, Yana.
During Sony’s State of Play event, one of the PlayStation VR2 games showcased was “Metro Awakening,” developed by 4A Games. This first-person VR experience will be released on November 7th for PlayStation VR2, PC VR, and Meta Quest 2/3. You can watch the latest trailer below.
Set prior to the initial game and penned by author Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Awakening narrates the journey of Dr. Serdar, seeking his wife Yana within the metro tunnels. Encountering hostile gangs is just one challenge; he must also confront the sinister creatures lurking within.
In a VR game, players will be responsible for handling their equipment, reloading weapons, and other tasks. There are even two options for movement to make navigation easier.
