In a spooky twist for this season, Patch 14.19 of League of Legends introduces Halloween-themed skins, adjustments to the game’s balance, and yet another makeover for K’Sante!

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to announce that the beloved “The Ultimate Spellbook” game mode makes its triumphant return! Not only that, but we’ve got our sights set on the Ranked mode once again for its third split. Exciting times ahead, as there are also updates to the Honor system to keep things fresh and engaging. And let’s not forget about the brand-new “My Bad” interactive emote, which adds a touch of humor and sportsmanship to our gaming experience. Here’s to an awesome season!

What’s more notable is that the developers have altered the Ward Experience system. Now, champions no longer earn experience by destroying wards.

Regarding further changes, not many champions receive adjustments compared to Patch 14.18. On the contrary, this time around, three out of the four champions are in store for substantial overhauls, so let’s delve into it.

LoL patch 14.19 champion changes

To start off patch 14.19’s champion reworks, we get tweaks to Elise:

  • Her Spider Queen passive now summons Spiderlings at full HP. The Spiderlings also jump on Q cast, rather than Elise landing
  • Further, Q (Venomous Bite) reveals the target until Elise lands.
  • Both of her Es also get changes: Cocoon reveals stealthed units while they’re stunned, and Elise can now Flash during the cast animation. Rappel’s buff always applies after descending, and Elise can recast after one second to drop down.
  • Finally, her Spider Form ultimate R has a shorter cooldown.

In the update, character K’Sante undergoes modifications to all his skills, and a reduction in his attack reach from 175 to 150. There’s quite a bit to discuss regarding these alterations.

  • His passive does 20 at all levels instead of scaling. During All-Out, it applies extra physical damage. However, it no longer grants true damage and increased damage during All-Out, and K’Sante doesn’t have extra range against marked targets
  • His Q now has a flat 20 mana cost at all ranks. It has higher flat damage and better resistances damage scaling, but no longer has an AD ratio. Its cooldown is slightly longer, both normally and in all-out, as is its cast time. Upon casting R, it no longer resets, but during All-Out it once again slows targets hit. Finally, its width is smaller
  • Likewise, his W has higher flat damage but loses its AD ratio, and gets a damage cap against monsters. It has a shorter cooldown, as is its minimum and maximum hold times. If not fully charged, it also has a reduced range. Further, its stun scales with held time. Most importantly, K’Sante can no longer change direction after casting. As for All Out, it does additional damage as true damage based on held time (but no longer charges faster), and gets more damage reduction.
  • His E gets a slightly shorter cooldown, and doesn’t reset K’Sante’s auto-attacks. During All-Out, it has a 50% reduced cooldown, but no longer has extended range nor can he go over walls. Its dash speed also gets some tweaks.
  • Finally, his R changes its damage from magical to physical, and loses its AP ratio. Its duration is also shorter, from 20 seconds to 15, and can not be ended early by recasting. For buffs, All Out grants more attack speed than before, and now grants 50% bonus armor penetration and 20% omnivamp. However, it doesn’t grant bonus Attack Damage from resistances or healing based on damage dealt to champions.

LoL champ number three who gets a big patch 14.19 rework is Tristana:

  • Tristana gets more attack range, basic Attack Damage, and attack speed ratio. However, she has less AD growth, health regen growth, and armor growth.
  • Her passive grants less bonus range
  • Her Q grants more attack speed
  • Her W slows less, and its slow duration is 2 second at all ranks. It has less base damage, but now has a +75% bonus AD ratio
  • Importantly, her E gets big changes. Its passive explosion damage is smaller. Its active damage also has less base damage, but gets the same bonus AD ratio. It also gets a better damage modifier on crit scaling, encouraging crit builds

Fortunately, Vladimir‘s unique ability, Sanguine Pool, receives a minor adjustment: its healing effect against minions is now reduced to 60%. This change aims to tone down his W-focused build strategies.

Quality of Life changes, new skins, and other tweaks

Typically, we’d discuss the changes to League of Legends items in Patch 14.19 here, but the extensive number of alterations calls for a dedicated piece. Therefore, let’s set that aside for another time and focus on the other adjustments instead.

Players have the option to Mark or Reserve Items in their store now, which designates a Legendary Item and provides a progress tracker on the user interface to show them how much gold is left until they can purchase it. Other sound effects within the shop have also been updated.

In addition, there’s a system that reminds players to make a purchase when they exit the starting point of the game without acquiring an item initially.

Prior to every 14 minutes elapsing, players will receive a mini-map alert when a teammate engages in combat with a champion in the jungle. This feature has a 20-second recharge time.

As I eagerly watch over my realm, I now receive an exciting global announcement along with sound effects whenever formidable challenges like the Baron, Dragons, Void Grubs, or the Rift Herald emerge!

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled about the upgrade for the Tower Missile VFX! Now, as it takes more damage, the missiles become increasingly bright and expansive, mirroring the intensity of the impact.

There’s also a slew of ARAM, bugfixes and QoL changes.

Lastly, Patch 14.19 introduces a fresh collection of Fright Night skins to mark the spirit of Halloween, along with skins remembering the World Championships event.

  • Fright Night Veigar
  • Fright Night Nunu and Willump
  • Fright Night Shaco
  • Fright Night Pyke
  • Fright Night Zeri
  • Victorious Sona
  • Worlds 2024 Viego
  • Prestige Fright Night Zeri
