When is the Ghost of Yōtei release date?
The Ghost of Yōtei release date is sometime in 2025, Sony and Sucker Punch have revealed.
Unfortunately, a finalised release date is yet to be revealed outside of the vague 2025 window.
If the game is set to debut in early 2025, it’s already been released, so we can reasonably assume that Ghost of Yōtei will become available for purchase, both physically and digitally, sometime around the end of 2025, or at least during the latter part of the year.
We’ll update this page when a confirmed release date is revealed.
Can I pre-order Ghost of Yōtei?
At the moment, it’s not possible to pre-order Ghost of Yotei because it has been recently unveiled and there isn’t a fixed release date available yet.
Once the long-awaited sequel becomes ready for pre-ordering, you’ll find it listed on platforms like GAME and Amazon.

Which consoles and platforms can play Ghost of Yōtei?
The Ghost of Yōtei can only be played on the PlayStation 5, making it exclusive to this console. At present, it cannot be found on the PlayStation 4 or personal computers (PCs).
Eventually, Ghost of Tsushima made its way to PC platforms, where it joins numerous PlayStation games on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. It’s quite likely that Yōtei will follow suit and be released for PC gaming as well, at some point in the future.
For now, though, Ghost of Yōtei is a PS5 exclusive.
Ghost of Yōtei gameplay and story details
The Ghost of Yōtei follows the footsteps of Ghost of Tsushima, offering familiar gameplay mechanics, yet enriched with some fresh features.
In the initial unveiling of Sucker Punch, we catch a glimpse of the fresh female character, Ghost Atsu, galloping on a horse across vibrant meadows, braving snowstorms, and crossing paths with a wolf.
Absolutely, there are moments showcasing swift sword fights involving katanas. Additionally, in this scene, we notice Atsu using a firearm, which is a fresh element.
Three centuries following the incidents on Tsushima, we find ourselves in the vicinity of Mount Yōtei – a majestic mountain nestled within the region of Ezo, now commonly recognized as Hokkaido in modern-day Japan.
As I eagerly peruse the PlayStation Blog, I discover that the vast expanse I’ll be exploring lies beyond the borders of Japan, a land teeming with sweeping prairies, icy tundra, and hidden perils – a journey awaits that promises to be both breathtaking and thrilling.
In the refreshed environment designed by Yotei, Sucker Punch can now present innovative play mechanics, enhancements to gameplay, and fresh weaponry. These additions will be revealed in due time.
