As a fan with a soft spot for both Funko Pop figures and Jurassic World, I can hardly contain my excitement! The Jurassic World fossilized lineup is not just another spin-off, it’s a thrilling nod to our favorite dinosaurs and the iconic franchise. It reminds me of the nostalgia-inducing LEGO Jurassic World T. rex skull set from earlier this year.

A significant breakthrough has occurred in the realm of Funko archaeology, and it doesn’t involve hidden Eternals figurines. Instead, they’re planning to unveil Jurassic World Pop figures modeled as Dilophosaurus, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus in a fossilized appearance, starting today, September 25th at 9am Pacific Time / 12pm Eastern Time. These figurines can be pre-ordered at Entertainment Earth (with a flat shipping fee of $7.95 that turns free after $99, and includes a guarantee for mint condition) or on Amazon at the same time.

Rebirth, Funko will have plenty more inspiration from the Jurassic World franchise. More information about the movie can be found below.

What Is the New Jurassic World Movie About?

Here’s the official synopsis for Jurassic World: Rebirth:

A new era is born.

Three summers from now, three years after the Jurassic World trilogy wrapped up with each movie earning over $1 billion worldwide, the timeless Jurassic saga takes a clever turn in a fresh direction with the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth.

In this exciting new installment, Scarlett Johansson, a renowned action star, Jonathan Bailey, an emerging talent, and Mahershala Ali, a two-time Academy Award winner, lead the cast. The story revolves around an adventurous team striving to obtain DNA samples from three mammoth creatures inhabiting various environments – land, sea, and air. The film also features Rupert Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, esteemed actors from around the world. Gareth Edwards, known for his stunning visuals (as seen in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”), directs this production, while David Koepp, the original “Jurassic Park” screenwriter, contributes the script.

Five years following Jurassic World Dominion, Earth’s environment has become largely unsuitable for dinosaurs, and those still alive inhabit secluded equatorial regions mirroring their original habitats. The three largest creatures in this tropical ecosystem possess the genetic material needed for a groundbreaking drug that could significantly aid humanity.

Ali is known as Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s top-reliable squad leader; Emmy-nominated and Olivier Award-winning actor Jonathan Bailey (from Wicked and Bridgerton) takes on the role of Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist; Emmy-nominated Rupert Friend (from Homeland and Obi-Wan Kenobi) makes an appearance as Martin Krebs, a representative from Big Pharma; Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (known for his roles in The Lincoln Lawyer and Murder on the Orient Express) portrays Reuben Delgado, the father of the stranded civilian family.

In this production, Luna Blaise from “Manifest”, David Iacono known for “The Summer I Turned Pretty”, and Audrina Miranda famous for “Lopez vs. Lopez” portray Reuben’s family. Furthermore, the cast includes Philippine Velge, who appeared in “Station Eleven”, Bechir Sylvain from “BMF”, and Ed Skrein, recognized for his role in “Deadpool”. They all play parts within Zora and Krebs’ groups.

“Jurassic World: Rebirth” is led by BAFTA-winning director Edwards, with a screenplay by Koepp (known for “War of the Worlds”). It’s based on characters developed by Michael Crichton. The film is produced by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, who have been involved in the Jurassic franchise for a long time and recently produced this summer’s hit, “Twisters”. Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer are serving as executive producers.

Jurassic World: Rebirth is scheduled to open in theaters on July 2, 2025.
