Monster Hunter Wilds release date, pre-order and latest news

As a seasoned cinephile with over three decades of gaming under my belt, I am beyond excited about the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Wilds! With its captivating visuals and immersive gameplay, it’s like a blockbuster action movie that I get to star in. The anticipation is palpable as we near February 2025, and I can hardly contain my enthusiasm.

Instead of relying on past achievements, Capcom continues to push forward with an impressive release lineup, and the upcoming title, Monster Hunter Worlds, is now set to join that list following its official release date announcement.

The scheduled release date for the upcoming game has not only been established, but it’s actually coming out sooner than expected – specifically in February 2025!

As a dedicated fan of the Monster Hunter series, I’m excited to share that the upcoming installment is actually a sequel to Monster Hunter World, not Monster Hunter Rise.

Like Rise, it features mounts, though, namely the Seikret.

Approaching the game’s launch early in the new year, it’s highly likely that Capcom will disclose additional details about the monsters, environment, and personalities.

This isn’t to say plenty hasn’t already been revealed.

Monster Hunter Wilds release date, pre-order and latest news

You can reserve a digital version of Monster Hunter Wilds before its release on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or Steam.

All digital pre-orders come with the Guild Knight Set and Talisman Hope Charm in-game items.

Order the digital version of the game from the PlayStation Store ahead of time, and you’ll get the Monster Hunter Wilds Digital Mini Artbook as a bonus (exclusive to PS5).

Additionally, you have the option to select the Digital Deluxe Version (includes a Deluxe Content Package), or even upgrade to the Premium Digital Deluxe Edition (it comes with the entire Deluxe Content Package, plus Cosmetic DLC Packs 1 and 2, and a Premium Extra Content).

As of now, it appears that pre-orders for the physical version of the game have not been activated in the UK.

In my humble opinion, I’m eagerly waiting for updates once the initial wave of physical pre-orders kicks off at retailers like GAME, Currys, and Amazon. Stay tuned!

Which consoles and platforms can play Monster Hunter Wilds?

You can now purchase and enjoy Monster Hunter Wilds on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers. Unfortunately, for those with Nintendo Switches, you’ll have to watch others play as Monster Hunter Wilds is not available on your platform following the successful launch of Monster Hunter Rise.

The game is also not on PS4 or Xbox One. It’s current-gen only.

At present, you can anticipate playing Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Whether it will also be released for the potential successor of the Nintendo Switch remains to be seen.

Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay and story details

Monster Hunter Wilds release date, pre-order and latest news

Monster Hunter Wilds is a direct follow-up to Monster Hunter World, rather than Rise.

In simpler terms, this implies that the game will feature numerous expansive open-world regions, larger than any seen in previous Monster Hunter games, which you’re free to roam around. Moreover, you can transition smoothly from these areas to your hunter village hub.

This new game is a development from the familiar formula fans have grown fond of in World. Here, you’ll monitor and battle colossal creatures, create tools, gather resources for sustenance, and collaborate with online players to accomplish these tasks together.

No worries, you’ve got the freedom to enjoy the game by teaming up with computer-controlled companions. Use a signal to summon allies and make your hunting party even stronger!

In the new expansion, Wilds, you’ll find the enigmatic Seikret Mount. Much like the Canynes from Rise, these mounts can be ridden and navigated. Combat isn’t off-limits either; you can battle enemies while atop a Seikret. What’s more, these mounts can hold two weapons for you! Isn’t that nifty?

In the realm of Wilds, it’s truly awe-inspiring to see the various weapon types from the World reappear. The Focus Mode becomes an indispensable tool, helping us identify and exploit the vulnerabilities of these increasingly crafty creatures. Their behavior seems sharper than ever, even influenced by the in-game weather – making it crucial for us to stay alert and focused!

In the Forbidden Lands, both old and newly emerging monsters await you as you embark on your role as a hunter, fulfilling your assigned duties.

It’s high time to endure, prosper, and unravel the mysteries of the vibrant, forbidden lands we inhabit.

Is there a Monster Hunter Wilds trailer?

Indeed, several Monster Hunter Rise trailers can be found online at present. However, for your convenience, I’ve chosen to share the most recent one – the trailer revealing its release date – right here.

It’s well worth checking out, and details the game’s story, environments, monsters, gameplay and characters.
