Watch: AEW's Bryan Danielson Chokes Out Jon Moxley on Dynamite

As a seasoned gamer who’s been following AEW since its inception, I’ve seen my fair share of intense matches, but tonight’s AEW Dynamite main event was something else! Jon Moxley and Darby Allin put on a brutal show that left me on the edge of my seat. The storyline between Moxley and Bryan Danielson has been brewing for months, and it finally came to a head in tonight’s match.

Tonight’s main event on AEW Dynamite saw Jon Moxley aiming to dethrone Darby Allin for a chance to challenge Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream for the AEW World Title. The match was intense, with Allin sustaining mouth injuries and taking blows from steel steps and hard floor impacts. Despite Allin’s best efforts, Moxley emerged victorious. However, Bryan Danielson made an appearance to settle old scores, choking Moxley with a tie. The BCC had to intervene to separate them, setting the stage for their upcoming match at WrestleDream. You can relive the exciting moments in the video below.

In this wrestling match, Mox quickly took down Allin after hearing the bell, then tossed him into the turnbuckle before raining down hard blows on his head. Mox continued to pummel Allin, kicking his back and causing him to bleed from the mouth due to an earlier turnbuckle attack.

After that, Moxley stepped on Darby’s head with his foot and shoved him against the ring post. He also executed a piledriver inside the ring, but Allin managed to escape the pinning attempt. The duo of Mox and Marina then kept dishing out more pain to Allin, who seemed unable to catch a break. He was hit by a clothesline in the ring before another pin attempt.

Eventually, Allin managed to take control, sending Mox off his feet into the barricade using a dropkick from his chair. Despite Allin’s attempt at a pin, Mox managed to kick out. Subsequently, Allin removed the padding from one of the turnbuckles and tried to toss Mox into it, but Mox skillfully evaded this. The fight moved outside the ring, where Mox pulled up the mats on the floor, revealing the wooden planks beneath. Allin succeeded in throwing Mox into the steel steps, but he himself missed a dive and landed heavily on the ground. Later, Moxley hoisted Allin into the air and slammed him down onto the steel steps, initiating the count.

Getting Some Payback

Allin managed to break free from being counted out, which left Moxley annoyed. After receiving a strong blow, Allin dodged a charge, almost pinning Mox but failing as Mox managed to stay in the game. Allin attempted a move called Coffin Drop, but Mox caught him and applied a submission hold. Somehow, Allin reached the bottom rope and broke free from the hold, prompting Mox to lift him up again and apply another choke. Allin countered the move, then bit Mox’s head, but Mox responded with an Avalanche. This proved decisive for Moxley, making him the new challenger for the AEW World Championship. Later on, Danielson appeared and tried to strangle Mox with a tie. It took all of the BCC (Best Friends and Orange Cassidy) to separate them, and Danielson threatened Mox that he would defeat him at WrestleDream.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the recent match, and any suggestions for Danielson moving forward in his wrestling career! Feel free to share your views with me on Threads or Twitter (@mattaguilarcb) anytime!
