Nintendo Switch 2 Update Reveals Fans Will Need to Wait Longer for Next Nintendo Console

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve learned to weather the storm of gaming rumors, leaks, and speculations. The latest whisperings about the Nintendo Switch 2 have been causing quite a stir among us eager fans, but I’ve grown skeptical about taking such tidbits at face value until the official word comes from Nintendo itself.

A reliable gaming industry source recently hinted that the long-awaited release of the new Nintendo console might be delayed, despite earlier speculation suggesting it was about to be unveiled. Although Nintendo has acknowledged that their next console is in development, they haven’t provided a specific timeline for when they will disclose its details or make it available to the public. As of now, we don’t know what the console will be called; the term “Nintendo Switch 2” is just a speculative label based on Nintendo hinting at this device being the successor to the original Nintendo Switch. While many have anticipated official news about the console due to persistent rumors and leaks, this source indicates that the reveal may not happen as soon as previously thought.

A recent rumor about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 has surfaced, originating from a user named Ryan (formerly Midori), who hails from the Bronx and is well-respected within gaming circles. Known primarily for leaking Sega-related information, this source occasionally shares insights into other areas of the industry as well. This time, their leak pertains to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Based on the information from the leaker, it appears that the Nintendo Switch 2 will not make an appearance during the current or the upcoming week. There were some Nintendo enthusiasts who had hoped for a reveal of the console around the Tokyo Game Show, but it seems their optimism might have been misplaced.

According to the leak, it’s important to know that there won’t be any discussion about the upcoming Nintendo Switch model in any presentations taking place this week or the following one.

Of course, take what is here with a grain of salt. While the source in question is reliable it doesn’t change the fact that ultimately Nintendo is the only one who knows when the Switch 2 will be revealed. It certainly has partners that also know, which is no doubt the source of this leak, however, these type of large scale reveals are always fluid. Just because there is an expected date doesn’t mean this won’t change. Whatever the case, if Ryan from the Bronx is right, this week and next week are not even on the table as a possibility.

Currently, Nintendo hasn’t responded to this speculation whatsoever. We don’t anticipate a response soon due to several factors, one being its past silence on Nintendo Switch 2 rumors. Should that change, we’ll modify our story. In the interim, for comprehensive coverage on the Nintendo Switch 2 – encompassing news, leaks, and speculation – follow this link.
