Later on, Harris elaborated on his thoughts regarding the underperformance of the film, stating: “It seems to me that such movies tend to succeed when they’re funny.
The film might have benefited from a more playful, less serious humor approach, rather than treating it like one of Shakespeare’s works.
Sony’s Spider-Man universe has carried on past Morbius, with Madame Web debuting recently, and a third Venom film, titled “The Last Dance,” set to be released towards the end of this year.
Kraven the Hunter, set for release this year and starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the main antagonist Spider-Man, is another project that will be pursued subsequently.
Harris pointed out an intriguing aspect about the movie: “At first glance, it seems like a suspense or thriller. However, upon closer look, the captivating element lies in how the parents respond to the situation. It’s about what they decide to accept as truth.
The mother tends to rely on her emotions to perceive reality, while the father, quite characteristic of many men, prefers hard facts and evidence. He reaches the truth by examining facts, whereas she often does so via her feelings.
