As a die-hard fan, I can tell you that in the thrilling Dark Horizon DLC for Remnant 2, obtaining the elusive Gossamer Heart Relic calls for a meticulous investigation. You’ll be on the hunt for the hidden locations of the Athenaeum Wek and Detritus Foundry dungeons. However, since the maps are laid out in an unpredictable fashion, you might need to make several attempts before success is yours.
Your companion will assist you in locating the crucial artifact, known as the ‘Crop Sample’. They’ll guide you on where to place it so you can obtain the ‘Gossamer Heart’. Throughout this journey, you’ll uncover other functions for the Crop Sample, such as summoning a boss or crafting a beneficial potion in Ward 13. Here’s an easy-to-follow guide to kickstart your adventure!
How To Get Gossamer Heart Relic | The Dark Horizon DLC
To get the Gossamer Heart Relic in Remnant 2’s Dark Horizon DLC, follow these steps:
- Find Athenaeum Wek & Detritus Foundry:
First, you need the dungeons Athenaeum Wek and Detritus Foundry to appear on your map. Since maps are random, keep resetting until you find these locations. Also, you’ll have to use a glider and go towards a specific portal to reach Aethenaeum Wek (Directions are provided below). - Locate the Crop Sample:
After arriving at Athenaeum Wek, head to the right side of the map. Look for a hole on the right side of a bridge pillar and enter it. Keep following the path until you find the Crop Sample on the ground. - Plant the Crop Sample:
Backtrack and use the nearby elevator. Once you reach an open area, head to the right and plant the Crop Sample at the altar. Wait a day (in-game), and the Gossamer Heart Relic will appear for you to pick up.
To acquire the Gossamer Heart Relic, follow the given instructions. However, if you require further assistance, I have included a comprehensive part in my guide that offers visuals and explicit directions for your convenience.
Reaching Athenaeum Wek (Detritus Foundry)
Initially, it’s essential to have the “Athenaeum Wek & Detritus Foundry dungeon” marked on your maps. Be aware that these maps are randomly generated, so you may need to reset them multiple times until you obtain the specified dungeons. Failing to do so could result in missing a vital material needed for crafting the Gossamer Heart.
To begin following this guide, please set out from the Wayland Conservatory as your starting point instead of any random map; you’ll need the Athenaeum Wek to proceed.
Upon arriving, proceed to your left as indicated below. Just keep left and follow the path.
As indicated in the following image, navigate to the right-hand side of the slope once you’ve reached it.
Eventually, you’ll get to the Glider by using your D.H. Transit Symbol. Once activated, continue with the following step.
Following the path in the image, keep going straight until you come across a pillar with an elevator nearby. Take the elevator ride, which will lead you to the portal and eventually to Athenaeum Wek, also known as Detritus Foundry.
Here’s The Location of the Crop Sample (Crop Lab)
Upon reaching Athenaeum Wek (Detritus Foundry), navigate towards the right part of the map instead.
Continue straight until you spot a gap or opening on the right side of the bridge, which is located on one of its pillars. Enter through that specific entry point.
Continue along the indicated path, and you’ll eventually reach the destination depicted in the image below. If you circle around the perimeter of the enclosure, you will discover the entrance.
After locating the entryway, continue moving forward and you’ll spot a sample of crops lying on the floor. Go ahead and pick it up, which is what you’re supposed to do, and then you may advance to the following stage.
Planting The Crop Sample to Get Gossamer Heart
Go back a moment, and you’ll notice there’s an elevator close to the enclosure, as depicted in the following picture. Take the elevator for the next part of your journey.
Once you reach an open expanse, move towards the right side of the location and place the Crop Sample down in front of the altar on the ground. After a day (in-game, I’m not certain if restarting affects this), you can then gather the Gossamer Heart from the ground.
The fragile charm known as the Gossamer Heart boosts your invincibility period when dodging, enhancing your ability to evade enemy attacks and reduce sustained harm!
Other Things You Can Do with the Crop Sample
If you opt to sow the seed on the left portion of the plot, the Inverted Shambler boss will appear on the red half, dispensing a mutator known as Repercussion. Moreover, delivering the Crop Sample to the chef in Ward 13 (Duane) would lead to the creation of a substance (Numbing Agent), which enhances your ability to withstand hits before losing gray health—a valuable asset for survival.
Additionally, there’s a young tree from the Root family standing in a corner of the garden located in Ward 13. Perform a Crop Analysis on this sapling. By doing so, you will find two items: the Crop Analysis and Nimue’s Tainted Oath. Once you have these items, go to Ward 13’s garden (the spot becomes accessible after acquiring the Profane Heart). When you place both items in that specific garden growth area, it initiates a short dialogue, resulting in the reward of the Cessation Bulbul!
