Kagurabachi Introduces Mysterious New Sword Bearer

As a seasoned manga enthusiast who’s seen countless tales of swords and sorcery, I must say that Kagurabachi’s latest arc has truly piqued my interest. The introduction of Samura, another Enchanted Blade bearer, adds an intriguing layer to the storyline.

In its second year of publication in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, the popular manga “Kagurabachi” has embarked on a monumental new chapter. This latest installment introduces yet another bearer of the Enchanted Blade, named Samura. To commemorate this milestone, creator Takeru Hokazono launched a significant new arc for the series – the Sword Bearer Assassination Arc. In this storyline, the members of the mysterious group known as Hishaku have begun their attacks on the Enchanted Blade’s users, rendering them virtually defenseless without their blades.

In the initial stages, Kagurabachi unveiled Yoji Uruha, the wielder of the Enchanted Blade bound to Kumeyuri’s blade. This individual was under siege from the Hishaku group. Later on, Chihiro Rokuhira stepped in to safeguard every sword-bearer, and the recent installment of the series has ushered in the second legendary user, Samura, hinted to be equally formidable regardless of whether he carries his Enchanted Blade or not.

Kagurabachi: Who Is Samura?

In Chapter 50 of Kagurabachi, events swiftly follow after Chihiro separates from Hakuri and Uruha to ensure their escape amid a fresh danger, Hirohiko. Subsequently, Uruha and Hakuri make their way towards the Senkutsuji Temple in search of backup. Upon their arrival at the temple via teleportation, Hakuri almost immediately encounters a combatant hurrying over to greet him. This warrior proceeds to touch Hakuri’s face curiously, questioning why this individual carries a scent reminiscent of Chihiro but isn’t an exact match. It is during this encounter that pieces of the puzzle fall into place for Hakuri as one of Chihiro’s recollections unfolds, detailing their initial encounter with Samura.

In this scenario, it’s worth mentioning that Samura, despite being blind, possesses enhanced senses significantly. This heightened awareness allows him to perceive emotions, such as affection, between people, like recognizing the similar love for his father that Samura and Uruha share. Moreover, he can identify Chihiro as a Rokuhira due to their shared scent. However, before Samura and Hakuri could engage in a deeper conversation, the Hishaku arrive at the temple, readying themselves for an attack comparable to their assault on Uruha’s hideout. In this critical moment, Uruha discloses that the Senkutsuji will be at an advantage due to Samura’s exceptional strength compared to his temple.

What Happens Next?

As a devoted fan, I can tell you that Uruha confidently declared we’d be “unbeatable” with Samura by our side, and it seemed like Hakuri was planning to wield a common sword, much like what Uruha had done previously. Given the nature of Hakuri’s powers, they required some time to recharge, but luckily, a sorcerer was on hand to hasten the recovery process. Instead of taking multiple days, this process would now only take 30 minutes – a significant reduction in time, but still a considerable stretch when dealing with an adversary as formidable as the Hishaku. However, Samura appeared unfazed by the situation.

At the conclusion of the chapter, Samura prepares to defend the temple for thirty minutes as Hakuri recuperates his full powers. Throughout the story, the Sword Bearers have demonstrated their strength in combat using their Enchanted Blades. However, it has been hinted that they are vulnerable without these magical weapons, a key conflict driving this narrative arc. As such, we’ll soon witness another Sword Bearer in action, relying solely on raw swordsmanship skills. In other words, the upcoming confrontation will be a display of unadulterated martial arts expertise.
