As a seasoned hunter with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Wilds! After years of eager anticipation, it seems we’re finally on the cusp of setting foot into the Scarlet Forest once more.
Capcom finally announced the release date for Monster Hunter Wilds during State of Play while showcasing more in-depth gameplay of a hands-on demo at Tokyo Game Show. A watch party stream is available, highlighting the Scarlet Forest and combat running in 60 frames per second on PS5.
At Gamescom, players who tried out a demo found that it ran at 30 frames per second on PS5. Although the frame rate isn’t consistently steady, it represents an improvement and may hint at the existence of two graphical modes in console versions. Capcom has not yet disclosed any additional details about this matter.
Since the demo is still being developed, more details about it will likely be unveiled closer to its release date. Currently, we know that PC specifications required to achieve 1080p/60 FPS at Medium settings with Frame Generation include an RTX 2070 Super, RTX 4060, or a Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card. Keep an eye out for further updates over the next few months.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on February 28th, 2025.
