With Uraume by his side once more, Sukuna ponders his existence as a curse. In an unexpected twist, he confesses to everyone that he could have lived life differently, leaving us all in suspense for what’s to come next.
If we find ourselves in a similar situation again, maybe it’d be intriguing to tread on a new journey, I mused as I set off northward, bound for the realm of the dead. And when they question my resolve, I just shrug and say, “Of course. I was defeated, you see.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reflect on Sukuna’s departure to the hereafter, where he hinted at exploring a new journey with his last words. Mahito explains that this realm is a gathering spot for souls post mortem. It appears to be a transitional space for those who possess the potential for reincarnation. If indeed Sukuna’s voyage northwards set him on such a course, then it seems his tale may continue rather than reach its end. However, should this curse user return one day, he might not embody the antagonist we have grown accustomed to.
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, there seems to be a pattern suggesting reincarnation. This was most recently confirmed when we discovered that Sukuna’s brother had been reborn as Yuji’s father, and this bloodline continued to our protagonist. Given that Sukuna’s brother could return, fans believe that even powerful entities like Sukuna might be able to reincarnate. If fortune favors Sukuna, he may get a chance to live another life, and if Gojo journeyed north after death, there’s hope they could meet again in the future.
Will Jujutsu Kaisen Receive a Sequel?
There’s a chance that Jujutsu Kaisen could continue with a sequel, yet it’s not guaranteed. After six years of intense work, Akutami seems to be due for a break. So far, there’s no definitive news about a sequel for Jujutsu Kaisen, but the final chapter has sparked much curiosity. While the story’s current arc has concluded, the possibility of additional content remains open.
Yuji’s journey has come full circle, and that is the story we have been tracking since day one. The boy went through hell and back again to live up to his granddad’s final request. Yuji used his strength to save others, and when he dies at last, he will have a proper death. Jujutsu Kaisen‘s finale narrowed its focus on the boy, and chapter 271 proved Yuji will be fine as he moves forward. When it comes to the sorcerer, a sequel is hardly needed, but there is more to Jujutsu Kaisen than Yuji. From its reincarnation teaser to jujutsu society’s big shift, things are shaking up in the canon. And honestly, it would be nice to watch that future unfold with a Jujutsu Kaisen sequel.
