Oh boy, oh boy! As a long-time wrestling fan who has been following the Hardys since their early days in TNA, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia and excitement with their recent return to the company. It’s like revisiting an old friend you haven’t seen in ages, only to find that they’ve still got it!
During the summer season, the iconic pro wrestling team, the Hardys (consisting of Matt and Jeff Hardy), officially reunited in TNA for the first time since 2017. Prior to this comeback, they had been with WWE. Now that they’ve reteamed following their AEW tenure, they are referencing some of their classic wrestling personas and plots. This was noticeable when Matt made his TNA return as his “Broken” persona. The duo has expressed a desire to reintroduce characters like Jeff’s Willow character, with Matt hinting to ComicBook that it’s something they have in store.
“We’ve got an idea up our sleeve that we really hope to execute – bringing Willow back into the picture at some point. It’s definitely a priority for us. On our wishlist of characters to reintroduce, Willow is high on the list.
“I would love that [for “Modest” to return]. For sure. That was, I was a little bit heartbroken. Everybody was so excited when I did come back to TNA about the Hardy Boyz music which I get it. People are so familiar with that music, but I was kind of, to hit that “Modest” music because that was my first theme song I’d ever written in professional wrestling. And there’s always room for that in the future. I think I’ve had this really cool idea for a long time about the Hardy Boyz music slowing down and then it goes into “Modest” or any other of my theme songs that I’ve done over the years with TNA. So I think it’ll happen in the future; I think there’ll be a time and place for it for sure.”
Matt and Jeff have had ongoing conflicts with The System for quite a while. They were scheduled to collaborate with ABC against the team before Hurricane Helene disrupted TNA’s journey to Spartanburg, South Carolina. With TNA’s major PPV event, Bound for Glory, approaching rapidly in just a few weeks, it wouldn’t be surprising if the previous two-time TNA World Tag Team Champions manage to secure the championship titles.
I’d love to hear your opinions about Jeff Hardy reintroducing his “Humble and Kind” theme song! Are you thrilled about this news? Please share your thoughts with me and @haleyanne_ on X and Bluesky, and remember to keep up with ComicBook for the latest TNA updates!
