The show got renewed all the way back in late 2023, even before season 12 had premiered. In total, it was renewed for 20 episodes. These episodes will be divided into seasons 13 and 14, with each set to air in 2025 and 2026 respectively.

Ahead of the new seasons, it’s clear that the early renewal will benefit the team, since showrunner David X Cohen mentioned earlier that the latest series, which was also revealed when the initial reboot season was announced, provided them with additional “creative freedom” within the writing room.
Earlier this year, he mentioned: “We put in a tremendous amount of effort last year to revive the show. This year, it feels like we’ve got complete creative liberty and are planning some grand, science fiction adventures.
In other words, a bit more creative liberty, with larger-than-life narratives focusing primarily on character development rather than extensively detailing the reasons for our return to television.
Cohen also discussed potential reasons why the show might come to an end permanently. He mentioned, “If we reach a stage where we can’t retain a significant number of our key creatives in different aspects moving forward, that could be a warning sign. However, I don’t want to make any definitive statements about this.
“If a superior replacement arrives and takes over, go ahead and proceed as planned. As far as I’m concerned, as long as our successors strive for excellence and maintain quality, I have no objections to stepping aside. The essence of Futurama lies in its hope for the future – I’m optimistic that we’ll continue to tackle challenges together.
Futurama cast: Who will return for season 13?
As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming season 13 of our beloved series. Although the official cast list is yet to be announced, there’s a strong possibility that John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman will return to their iconic roles. We can also anticipate the usual influx of talented guest voices to join them on this cinematic journey!
How many episodes will there be in Futurama season 13?
