Rings of Power boss drops season 3 hint: ‘There’ll be good news soon’

As a seasoned cinephile with a penchant for Middle Earth lore, I can confidently say that the prospect of The Rings of Power season 3 is nothing short of exhilarating! Having immersed myself in Tolkien’s world since my teenage years, I eagerly anticipate the exploration of previously untouched corners of this rich universe.

Although The Rings of Power season 2 hasn’t concluded, there’s already excitement brewing over season 3, as executive producer Charlotte Brändström has subtly suggested a possible continuation for the series.

For now, even though the creators have been brainstorming ideas for a possible Season 3, Amazon Prime Video hasn’t given an official green light for its production.

Should we be fortunate enough to have a third season of this captivating series, it would provide an exciting opportunity to delve deeper into J.R.R. Tolkien’s vast world on the silver screen. After all, the show has already introduced us to cherished characters like Tom Bombadil (portrayed by Rory Kinnear), a figure absent from Peter Jackson’s films, and offered insights into the complexities of the Orcs under the leadership of Adar (Sam Hazeldine). Moreover, it has given us a rich tapestry of world-building and a plethora of intriguing relationships.

When asked about their ideas for future seasons of the show, Brändström and cinematographer Alex Disenhof both shared a significant scene they wanted to see portrayed on-screen.

Despite being quite challenging due to its underwater location, Disenhof remarked, “The Fall of Numenor,” while Brändström exclaimed, “The Fall of Numenor and the massive tidal wave!

Disenhof remarked, “I find it quite intriguing, and I’m aware of the challenges involved if we were to do something underwater…

Brändström noted, ‘It sounds enjoyable! I’m drawn to its visual aspects since the show has a cinematic quality that is seldom seen with such scale, which certainly adds to the excitement.’

JD Payne and Patrick McKay have been keeping quiet about the possibility of Season 3, but they told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re just saying, we’re busy with it. We’re in the kitchen, so give us some time to prepare!

In future seasons of our series, we’ve structured it such that key significant events, or “tentpole moments,” serve as the foundation. This season, we’re focusing on the creation of the Rings, Sauron and Celebrimbor’s story, the deception of the Elven smiths, and the Battle of Eregion. Be sure to catch the next episode to find out what happens next!
