LeBron James Details “Pure Joy” Ahead of Playing With Son Bronny James

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for family dynamics and sports, I must say that witnessing LeBron James and his son Bronny James joining forces on the Lakers is nothing short of heartwarming. Their bond transcends the basketball court and serves as an inspiring testament to the power of family and perseverance.

LeBron James has no game face when it comes to son Bronny James joining him on the Lakers.

On September 30th, during the Los Angeles Lakers’ media day, NBA enthusiasts caught a glimpse of the first pair of teammates who are also father and son. LeBron, aged 39, along with his 19-year-old son, Bronny (whose real name is LeBron James Jr.), wore their yellow home jerseys for photos.

And LeBron couldn’t help but gush over the moment.

The basketball legend expressed pure delight when speaking about sharing the court with his eldest son, as captured on social media. He struggled to find the right words, saying he could only talk about himself in relation to him. He was left speechless.

He continued, “Just super proud of him to get to this point. He’s a man, and he’s ready to go.”

One of the hottest topics of discussion was what will Bronny call his father on the court—as “Dad” is out of the question.

Bronny mentioned that they hadn’t decided on their teammate’s name yet, but he thought it might be ‘Bron.’ He suggested ‘Bron’ because it seemed like the most straightforward option.

LeBron James, entering his 21st season, was spotted with the iconic number 23 on his jersey. As for Bronny, he is set to start his NBA career with the number 9, featuring “James Jr.” on his back.

In addition, the pair (father and son) also struck poses for the official team photographs, facing each other with their backs, while both LeBron and Bronny displayed warm smiles as they were captured in the photos side by side.

Savannah James, LeBron’s wife and mother of Bryce James (17) and Zhuri James (9), along with Bronny, shared a touching reaction on her Instagram stories about the media day, expressing her profound gratitude with the words, “Wow!!! I’m left speechless.

Bronny’s NBA debut comes over a year after he was hospitalized after suffering cardiac arrest.

In the summer of 2023, there was a critical health incident during a basketball practice at the University of Southern California for him. This necessitated his transfer to the ICU. By the end of July, he was discharged and went on to have a successful season with the Trojans. Eventually, in June, he officially joined the Lakers’ roster.
