As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the return of Dead by Daylight‘s 2v8 mode is like the sweet aroma of a freshly brewed coffee on a chilly morning. The original run was short-lived but left an indelible mark on the community, and its comeback has me more excited than a kid on Christmas Eve.
As a devoted fan of Dead by Daylight, I can’t help but share my excitement about the recent additions to the game: Lights Out, Chaos Shuffle, and the highly sought-after 2v8 mode. Although not officially termed as new game modes, these modifiers certainly bring a fresh twist to the experience! Among them, it’s the 2v8 mode that has garnered the most interest, with its unique blend of two Killers joining forces against an eight-member Survivor team. These teams engage in familiar match dynamics but with enhanced powers and mechanics.
Despite the announcement this week that Dead by Daylight‘s 2v8 mode would be part of their Halloween plans, it won’t fall within the Halloween timeframe as its official return is set for November 12th and will last until November 26th. This means players can enjoy two consecutive weeks with this mode from that date forward. Additionally, when it comes back online, it will boast an expanded roster of Killers to choose from, although only original characters are currently available, not licensed ones such as Vecna, Dracula, Michael Myers, etc.
In the previous version of 2vs8 matches, characters such as The Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse, and Huntress were playable. For this round, The Blight, Spirit, and Deathslinger will also be part of the action. Typically, Killers in a 2vs8 scenario can employ their standard sets of abilities, but they also gain additional powers that other Killers can utilize as well. At this point, it’s still uncertain what the special advantages for the new Killers will entail.
As a diehard fan, I can’t help but feel excited about the latest developments in my favorite game, “Dead by Daylight.” Just like the Killers are ramping up their powers, so too are the Survivors getting some extra abilities to keep us on our toes! These new “Active Abilities” can do everything from raising or fixing pallets, helping out teammates, to an impressive feat of picking yourself back up if you’re on the brink of death.
In a natural, easy-to-understand manner: The 2vs8 mode of “Dead by Daylight” is making a comeback on November 12th and will continue until November 26th.
