As a lifelong WWE fan with over three decades of watching wrestling under my belt, I must say that the Trick Williams vs Ethan Page main event was nothing short of electrifying! The tension between these two rivals has been building for months, and it finally culminated in an unforgettable match.
Trick Williams and Ethan Page have faced numerous problems since Page entered WWE NXT unexpectedly. However, it was when Page claimed the NXT Championship without pinning Williams during a Fatal 4-Way match that really escalated their issues. This dispute has culminated in a title fight for the new NXT Championship as the main event of the CW premiere. Both competitors gave their all to emerge victorious and become Champions. As promised, CM Punk officiated the match fairly, and in the end, he raised Williams’ hand as the new NXT Champion. He then delivered a GTS to Page.

Initially, Page rushed towards Punk following a two-count, yet Punk maintained his stance squarely. Subsequently, Williams had his chance for a two-count, and Page retaliated by kicking Williams in the face with a boot. However, this too resulted in another two-count. Williams retaliated by pushing Page out of the ring, but Punk urged Williams to refrain from pursuing Page outside. Ignoring Punk’s advice, Williams charged outside and hurled Page into the LED screen, causing it to flicker momentarily. In response, Page flung Williams over the barricade, resulting in both of us tumbling to the ground.
Upon resuming from commercial break, Page continued his assault on Williams with multiple hits, attempting to keep him grounded with additional kicks. However, Williams managed to rise and retaliate with his own blows. Page momentarily slowed down the pace with a knee strike to Williams’ abdomen and an attempt at a pin, but Williams managed to free himself. As Page advanced, he collided with the turnbuckle, providing an opportunity for Williams to execute his jumping neckbreaker.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but marvel at Williams’ impressive entrance. He unleashed a series of powerful strikes, followed by two breathtaking leaping kicks in quick succession. After a heavy slam, you could see he was feeling the impact. Williams landed a massive kick to his opponent’s face, but moments later, found himself crashing into the cold, hard steel steps. Meanwhile, Page executed an Ego’s Edge on the announce table, sending it shattering and causing a brief audio blackout when the table broke.

After returning to the ring, Williams delivered a powerful knee strike on Page, causing him to tumble onto Williams. However, just before repeating his Title win, Williams managed to avoid this by kicking out. This prompted both men to rise again, with Punk urging them to continue the match. They began exchanging blows, but then Page landed a kick. In response, Williams countered with an uppercut and executed a running slam.
In another turn of events, Williams aimed for the final move and succeeded, yet Page managed to kick out just as the referee was about to count three. Unfortunately for Williams, he failed to execute the Trick Shot, giving Page an opportunity to retaliate with a knee strike and a pin attempt. Despite this, Williams continued to show resilience by kicking out before the count of three. In an act of mockery, Page grabbed Williams and performed the GTS, targeting Punk in the process. As Page went for another cover, once again, Williams managed to kick out. In response, Punk ridiculed Page with a display of a mere 2-count.
On that occasion, Page aimed for the Brink of Self-Importance, but Williams managed to break free and executed an Astonishing Stunt, sending it into safety. Punk tallied and Williams secured the victory, thus retaining his title as a Two-Time Champion in NXT.
