Initially, I found myself drowning in the technobabble of the financial world, much like a novice trader trying to keep afloat amidst the sea of jargon. However, as a seasoned investor, I’ve learned to appreciate the authenticity of the dialogue and the realism it brings to the series.
Back when “Industry” debuted on our screens, I was captivated by a gang of fresh finance degree holders, plunged straight into the tumultuous realm of post-2008 banking and trading. Quite an immersion, wasn’t it?
As a passionate cinephile, I’ve always been candid about our approach to scripting each season: we strive to make it slightly more approachable for viewers. We aim to guide the audience through their journey, and at times, I find myself revisiting Season 1 and recognizing that it might have had a touch of ‘tech-jargon’ here and there.
He acknowledged that the terminology seemed genuine and authentic, explaining it was because he and Kay had prior experience in the financial sector, specifically investment banking.
