Interestingly, Persona enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the new game has earned an almost perfect rating. Remarkably, its score matches that of “Persona 5 Royal”, so if you were a fan of the enhanced and refined version of “Persona 5”, it seems that “Metaphor: ReFantazio” is also worthy of your attention.
In the latest review, Famitsu gave Metaphor: ReFantazio the same score as Persona 5 Reload, which is 37 out of a possible 40. This scoring system works by having four different reviewers individually rate the game on a scale of 1 to 10, and then adding up their scores to find the final score. In this instance, Metaphor: ReFantazio received ratings of 9, 9, 10, and 9 from the reviewers, totaling 37 out of a possible 40 points.
Compared to other games in the Persona series, as rated by Famitsu, the original Persona 5 received a higher score of 39/40. Games like Persona 3: Dancing and Persona 5: Dancing earned scores of 32/40 each, while Persona 5 Tactica scored slightly higher at 33/40. Even though it’s not directly named as a Persona game, the fact that it shares many similarities with the developer, and its review scores are comparable to the highly acclaimed game, Persona 5 Royal, is positive news for fans of the series.
Beyond awarding the game a high rating, the Famitsu review also offered insights about Metaphor: ReFantazio that can give Persona players a sense of how it plays. Notably, the review mentioned that the gameplay bears striking resemblance to the Persona series, with the combat system showing significant parallels too – this may already be noticeable for those who have seen previews or trailers beforehand.
