As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the multiverse has never been more exciting than it is now with the release of “MultiVersus: Collision Detected.” The fusion of iconic characters from DC Comics, Marvel, Cartoon Network, and Sega is a dream come true for any fan who’s ever fantasized about an epic crossover event.

In a unique crossover event, characters from Justice League, Marvel’s Avengers, TopCow’s Witchblade, Wildstorm’s Planetary, Saban’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Monsterverse’s Godzilla and Kong, and Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog are joining forces. This incredible blend of worlds is taking place in MultiVersus: Collision Detected, a six-issue DC Comics series. The story unfolds behind the free-to-play platform fighting game, which has recently added the Powerpuff Girls to its roster.

It’s yet unclear if the superheroines of Townsville, USA will make an appearance in the MultiVersus comic book by Bryan Q. Miller (Justice League vs. Teen Titans) and Jon Sommariva (Star Wars Adventures). However, characters originating from Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and Adult Swim universes are now joining the action.

Following encounters with psychic premonitions featuring symbols representing “the Star Child” (Steven Universe), “the Rabbit” (Bugs Bunny), and “the Witch” (the Wicked Witch of the West), Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were mysteriously transported to the residence of Mister Miracle and Big Barda in suburban New Jersey. Their daughter, Avia, informed Superman that her parents had ventured out to explore a signal originating from “beyond the Source Wall,” a boundary encompassing the multiverse, which was thought to be impossible. Bugs Bunny humorously admits that he made a mistake on the road at Albuquerque. The master detective, Batman, quickly figures out that Bugs is just causing trouble, or as he puts it, “nothing but a nuisance.” Bugs explains to the group that while teasing Daffy Duck in his own world, he was unexpectedly swept through a portal and found himself in this universe, where Tom and Jerry are seen fighting against Finn and Jake from ‘Adventure Time’, which seems like a combat video game.

As I gaze upon the Daughter Box, it unleashes an electrifying surge of cosmic power, with another portal tearing open in the heavens above. The JLA Watchtower alerts us to multiple simultaneous impacts worldwide, prompting Superman to mobilize the Justice League, while Batman swiftly retrieves the Box for analysis at the Batcave, seeking the source of this incursion. In Central City, it’s too late as I reach the impact site – a Big Belly Burger restaurant! The Flash and I cross paths with Shaggy and Scooby-Doo from Mystery Inc., who were enjoying their meal after thwarting the Condiment King. Gosh, what a coincidence!

Batman informs that Hawkgirl and Green Lantern are heading to a crash site in the Mediterranean, while Wonder Woman’s invisible plane lands near Gorilla City in Africa. Suddenly, winged primates, enchanted by the magic of the Wicked Witch from “The Wizard of Oz,” assault Themyscira. The green-skinned sorceress, brandishing her broom like a mystical wand, intends to establish her own Emerald realm with Gorilla Grodd under her control as muscle. Meanwhile, in Metropolis, the hybrid character called Star Child from “Steven Universe” and the gemstone-empowered Garnet confront Superman’s adversaries Livewire and Parasite when Superman hands over the duty to another hero.

From the Batcave, Batman reports that the interdimensional crossover is worse than they thought. The Batcomputer detects that Avia’s Daughter Box is streaming a cross-dimensional live feed, meaning the “video game” they saw on the console is actually happening out in the multiverse. Batman then deduces they might have a way to send these trespassers back to their respective universes, but before he can devise a plan, he’s alerted to a belching intruder in the Batcave. “Really wish you burp hadn’t learned that,” says the unidentified intruder as Batman is attacked by robotic tentacles.

In the city of Metropolis, Superman, Steven Universe, and Garnet observe the landing of a ship resembling Rick Sanchez, the smartest man in the universe from Rick and Morty, who appears to have designed his vessel in the shape of his own head. The comic concludes with the Rick ship broadcasting a message: “Wubba-Lubba-Dub-Dub, Earth!
