The Thing Clobbers the Marvel Universe on New Variant Covers

As a seasoned comic book enthusiast with over three decades of collecting under my belt, let me tell you that these Marvel Two-In-One Variant Covers are truly something special! Each piece showcases a unique blend of artistry and storytelling that captures the essence of our favorite characters in ways we’ve never seen before.

Ben Grimm, also known as the ever-lovin’ blue-eyed Thing from the Fantastic Four, finally got his own series after more than a decade of sharing the spotlight with Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Girl, and the Human Torch in the pages of Fantastic Four #1. Stan Lee, Marvel’s publisher, introduced the Thing to readers through a series of team-up stories in Marvel Two-in-One, which featured different Marvel heroes in each issue. After a fight with the Hulk and a team-up with Iron Man in issues 11 and 12 of Marvel Feature, a trial run for the Thing, his own comic book debuted with Marvel Two-in-One #1 in October 1973.

For a period of ten years, spanning across 100 issues, Marvel Two-in-One showcased team-ups and confrontations between Thing (Ben Grimm) and a variety of Marvel’s iconic characters such as the Avengers, Spider-Man, Thor, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, as well as less famed ones like the original Guardians of the Galaxy, Doc Savage, Liberty Legion, Nighthawk, Skull the Slayer, Quasar, the Living Mummy, Blue Diamond, and even the Yancy Street Gang.
