What We Do in the Shadows Comes to an End in Season 6 Trailer

As a die-hard fan who’s been following this show since its inception, I must say that the trailer for Season 6 of “What We Do in the Shadows” has me positively thrilled! It’s like a delicious garlic-infused treat, served up just when I thought I couldn’t love this show any more.

We officially have our first look at What We Do in the Shadows‘ regular human finale. On Thursday, FX released the first official trailer for the sixth and final season of What We Do in the Shadows, ahead of the series’ return on October 21st. The series is a spinoff of the 2014 film of the same name, and has grown a cult following since its initial premiere in 2019.

In Season 6 of “What We Do in the Shadows”, Guillermo, played by Harvey Guill?n, is taking a fresh look at his existence. If he isn’t a servant who does everything to please his Master, dreaming of one day becoming a vampire himself, then who is he? Simultaneously, the vampires are undergoing self-examination. When their long-absent roommate resurfaces after a 50-year slumber, they come to terms with their lack of achievement in half a century – no goals met, no dreams pursued, and only their street and part of Ashley Street having been ‘conquered’.

Why Is What We Do in the Shadows Ending?

According to the team behind “What We Do in the Shadows”, who shared this information with ComicBook at San Diego Comic-Con this year, their intention is to conclude the series in a satisfying manner rather than running out of creative ideas and potentially wearing out their welcome.

According to executive producer Paul Simms, it’s more effective to wrap things up a tad early rather than lingering too long, as he believes. Currently editing the current season, he finds it among his favorites due to its familiar humor, focusing on a satisfying ending rather than crafting an extraordinary final season. The goal is to create a season that can be enjoyed without needing to watch the entire show, allowing new viewers to jump in at any point and still find it amusing and entertaining.

What Is What We Do in the Shadows About?

This television show, titled “What We Do in the Shadows“, explores the daily lives of three classic vampires – Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja; along with Colin Robinson, a unique energy-sucking vampire, and Guillermo, who serves as Nandor’s faithful servant. The plot centers on the vampires navigating their struggles against the modern world, encountering various supernatural entities, and engaging in conflicts amongst themselves. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to others, Guillermo strives to reconcile his allegiance to Nandor with his potentially dangerous lineage.

Mark Proksch, starring as Colin Robinson in the series, shared during a past interview with egmr.ru that the writing has consistently been robust. He added that executive producer Paul mentioned that their approach leans more towards 60/40 or 70/30 improvisation. This means they follow what’s written initially and then improvise. For his character, since it needs to appear as if he’s speaking naturally about various topics, often they provide a starting sentence for him, and he comes up with the rest. Since it has to seem so natural, these topics are usually ones he’s familiar with, allowing him to draw from his reservoir of useless information. He concluded by saying that the writing is exceptionally strong, and this seems to be the case for everyone else in the series as well. Natasha, for instance, delivers a few brilliant takes before branching off on her own. This style of mockumentary helps create the feeling that someone is spontaneously generating their dialogue, making it seem genuine. However, most of what you see on screen has actually been written.
