What you need to know

  • Diablo 4 launches Season 6: Season of Hatred Rising on October 8 with a new Battle Pass and Seasonal Rewards.
  • The launch coincides with the first expansion for the game, Vessel of Hatred.
  • The Premium Battle Pass is optional, but you can get one for free as well as 20 tier skips through Microsoft Rewards.

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel excited about the latest updates to Diablo 4! The Season 6: Season of Hatred Rising and the Vessel of Hatred expansion have me hooked, and the opportunity to get a Premium or Accelerated Battle Pass for free through Microsoft Rewards is simply too good to pass up.

If you’re diving back into Diablo 4 for Season of Hatred Rising, or returning for the Vessel of Hatred expansion, you might be considering the Premium or Accelerated Battle Pass. If you’ve bought the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions of Vessel of Hatred, a Battle Pass is included with your purchase. But if you opted for the Standard edition or haven’t purchased the expansion yet and want to explore the new season, here’s a method that could help you get your upgraded Battle Passes free of charge.

If you already have an upgraded battle pass, you may just want the tier skips

Just go straight to Microsoft Rewards, where you can earn an advanced pass worth 22,500 points. Typically, the advanced pass is priced at $25, but by using this offer, you’ll save a significant amount over time if you wish to purchase each season separately.

The Accelerated Pass comes with 20 tier skips to speed up your journey through the Diablo 6 Season and an emote.

If you don’t have the points for the Accelerated Pass, you can get the Premium Battle Pass for only 9000 points, saving you $10 in ‘real money’. This gets you the 90 tiers but no skips, and no fancy emote. Though this would be my choice for the best value.

If you already have the Battle Pass, you can still get 20 tier skips for the lowly fee of 1700 reward points, which should shave off a fair amount of time it will take you to complete your Season of Hatred Rising pass. Normally skipping a tier costs 200 Platinum in game, or $1.99 in real money terms.

After you’ve successfully redeemed your code, you’ll get an email containing a unique activation key. Remember to enter this key on the Battle.net site, following the instructions provided in the email, instead of using it on your Xbox console or Steam platform.

What are Microsoft Reward points?

Microsoft Rewards points can be traded for a variety of items including gift cards, digital content such as movies and games, charitable contributions to nonprofits, and other options. You can accumulate these points easily by engaging within Microsoft’s ecosystem, specifically through platforms like Xbox and Bing.

How do I earn Microsoft Reward points?

  • Searching with Bing on your browser nets you up to 5 points per search, and up to 150 points per day.
  • Purchases from the Microsoft store will reward 1 point per dollar spent.
  • Downloading the Rewards app on your Xbox will give you simple activities to complete to earn points daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Playing games on Xbox or watching movies and TV shows as indicated on your Xbox dashboard.
  • Downloading the Microsoft Rewards browser extension on Google Chrome will set your default search engine to Bing and track your point balance if you prefer this browser.

Playing games on Xbox makes it incredibly simple to accumulate reward points; in fact, I can easily earn 2-3 thousand per month with minimal effort, just by finishing dashboard tasks. Over time, these points have often covered the cost of my Xbox controllers, and now they’re likely to pay for my Diablo 4 Battle Passes as well.

Is Diablo 4 Season 2 Battle Pass worth purchasing?

As a tech enthusiast, I must admit that I’m still in the early stages of Season of Blood, but let me tell you, the cosmetics on this Battle Pass are far more enticing compared to Season 1. Who wouldn’t want to transform into a blood-drenched vampire? Plus, leveling up seems a breeze, just as the developers promised in their Season of Blood Update. I’m optimistic that I’ll complete this pass for once.
