Silent Hill 2 Reviews Give the Remake Higher Metacritic Score Than Expected

As a seasoned survivor of countless nights in Raccoon City and the eerie towns of Silent Hill, I have to say that my anticipation for the remake of Silent Hill 2 has reached an all-time high. With the Metacritic scores rolling in, it’s clear that this remake is shaping up to be a triumphant return for one of horror gaming’s most iconic franchises.

The remake of “Silent Hill 2” by Bloober Team and Konami will be released next week, but early reviews are already out, offering a glimpse into the revamped version of the 2001 horror game. Given that Silent Hill is often considered on par with Resident Evil among survival-horror enthusiasts, it’s fair to say that Bloober Team felt quite a bit of pressure to get this game right. Luckily for both Bloober Team and Silent Hill fans, the early Metacritic scores suggest that players can look forward to a well-received game when “Silent Hill 2” launches on November 8th.

At this moment, the game “Silent Hill 2” currently holds a score of 87 on Metacritic. This is derived from nearly 50 reviews for its PS5 version, which also earned an 87 on that platform. However, the PC version of “Silent Hill 2” received a slightly higher rating of 88, based on only five reviews. Unfortunately, there’s no Xbox version available as “Silent Hill 2” did not release for the Xbox Series X|S, and it remains unclear whether or not it will ever be ported to that platform.

In an unexpected turn of events, Silent Hill 2 garnered five flawless scores of 100 across various reviews. Most of these reviews have been incredibly positive, commending Bloober Team for their reverence towards the original Silent Hill 2. Critics also view this remake as a triumphant return to form for the franchise and an ideal starting point for newcomers who haven’t delved much into the world of Silent Hill before.

So far, Metacritic reviews for Silent Hill 2 have been predominantly positive, with no negative scores. However, some of these positive reviews suggest that the remake might have retained too many elements from the original Silent Hill 2, which includes certain challenging and limiting aspects that were frustrating for players. Fortunately, these mixed reviews are few and far between compared to the overwhelmingly positive reception.

Personally, I’ve always been a fan of the Silent Hill series, and Silent Hill 2 was no exception. When I heard that Bloober Team, known for games like Layers of Fear, The Medium, and the Blair Witch, would be handling the remake, I must admit, I had my doubts. While these games have been well-received, they haven’t quite reached the heights of exceptional reviews. However, with Silent Hill 2, I believe Bloober Team might just change the way people perceive them. It could very well be a game-changer for this studio!

Our assessment of the game “Silent Hill 2” is forthcoming, however, we received it slightly later in the review cycle which delayed its release. Despite additional reviews emerging, it’s unlikely that the Metacritic score for “Silent Hill 2” will decrease significantly, so fans can anticipate an exciting week ahead with the game.
