Hilary confided in People that she has never experienced being a single parent, but rather has been caring for two children. She admitted that attempting to nurse both of them simultaneously proved challenging for her.
The 50-year-old went on to express gratitude for the fact that she’s been able to breastfeed, considering the ability to do so is not a given for anyone.

She added, “I really wanted to be able to do that personally.”

Unfortunately, we seem to have lost some of our communal spirit. In the past, we were quite close-knit, like a tribe. I believe that it takes a community, working together, not just for the wellbeing of the infants but also for the mother.
Hillary stated that she feels there isn’t sufficient focus given to postpartum maternal care.
She expressed, “It seems as if all attention is centered on the newborn, leaving mothers feeling overlooked. However, when you establish a community where everyone supports one another, it’s truly remarkable. Fortunately, I am blessed to have such a supportive group of people surrounding me.

Hillary further stated her belief that there should be more focus placed on postpartum maternal care.
She put it this way: It’s as if when someone has a baby, all the attention goes to the child, while the mother gets overlooked. However, having a supportive community where everyone can lean on each other is truly special. Fortunately, I’m blessed with such a group of people around me.
As a devoted admirer, I too share her deep respect for her community, much like the character portrayed by the “Freedom Writers” star. Moreover, I find myself in agreement with her and my partner when it comes to our shared parenting philosophy.
