Daryl Dixon Season 2 Episode 2 Exclusive Preview: Welcome to Greenland

As a dedicated fan of the Walking Dead universe, I am absolutely thrilled to see how the storylines are expanding and venturing into uncharted territories. The latest spinoff, Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol, has me particularly intrigued as it takes us to the icy landscapes of Greenland!

In the universe of “The Walking Dead”, spinoffs have transported Daryl to France, relocated Maggie and Negan to New York City, and followed Rick and Michonne on their journey from Philadelphia to Wyoming. The upcoming installment of “Daryl Dixon: The Book of Carol” is delving into uncharted territories once again: Greenland. ComicBook has released an exclusive sneak peek (above) from this Sunday’s “Moulin Rouge” episode, where characters Carol (played by Melissa McBride) and Ash (Manish Dayal) take a break in Greenland to fix a fuel leak before resuming their flight across the Atlantic Ocean en route to Paris.

In the video, a character named Carol, armed with a crossbow, narrowly escapes an encounter with the Tupilag, which is what the locals refer to as walkers. The name originates from an ancient Inuit tale about a carnivorous creature. Meanwhile, Ash and Carol are warmly received by Eun (Minami Bages) and Hanna (Maria Erwolter), Greenland residents, while Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) discover a fresh danger at the Nest located in Mont-Saint-Michel, France.

Executive producer Greg Nicotero, who oversaw last week’s highly-anticipated season opener, shared some insights with ComicBook about what we can expect in the upcoming episodes. This is part of our exclusive post-episode discussion for The Book of Carol.

As a gamer, I found myself completely immersed in Daryl’s storyline during season one. It was like we were walking that path together. Now, with Carol joining the fray, we’re getting a fascinating blend of what’s happening in France alongside Carol’s personal journey. Nicotero shared this with ComicBook, explaining that since the beginning of season one, the question on everyone’s lips was: “How on earth did Daryl end up in France?

The previous query was resolved across multiple episodes, but now the focus shifts to: “What on earth is Carol’s plan for reaching France?” After locating her long-lost best friend in Freeport, Maine during the season finale last year, Carol deceived Ash about her deceased daughter to persuade her new pilot friend into flying her across the globe – presumably – to locate Daryl in Paris.

Since it’s clear that Carol has discovered a plane and will embark on a journey to reach it, and then once she arrives in this new place, she’ll be delving into an aspect of the world where Daryl resides, Nicotero hinted. I find the concept fascinating as we watch these two narratives heading towards each other. We know they will eventually intersect, but we don’t yet know when.

Until that time: Farewell and Good Fortune. The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon season 2 episode 2, titled “Moulin Rouge,” will air on October 6th at 9:00 pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+.
