Winnie-the-Pooh: What’s Next for the Twisted Childhood Universe After Blood and Honey 2

Winnie-the-Pooh: What's Next for the Twisted Childhood Universe After Blood and Honey 2

As a gamer who’s been through countless hours of horror games and movies, I must say that the Twisted Childhood Universe has truly caught my eye (or should I say, nightmares). The concept of reimagining beloved childhood characters as terrifying killers is something straight out of a survival horror game script.

Contrary to expectations, given its scant theatrical releases and negative critical appraisals, the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey series has rapidly gained traction among horror enthusiasts. The beloved children’s figures have transformed into fearsome slashers in these two productions by Jagged Edge Productions. Notably, the second movie, titled Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, has garnered significantly better reviews and responses than its predecessor upon release on Peacock. This film now caters to a broader audience, making it more accessible for people who are just discovering the genesis of the growing Twisted Childhood Universe that is poised to become a full-fledged franchise.

If you’ve seen “Blood and Honey 2”, you may have observed that the images shown during the ending sequences feature a multitude of characters beyond those from A.A. Milne’s “Winnie-the-Pooh”. Jagged Edge Productions is expanding their horror universe by reimagining cherished childhood figures, with several new movies currently in development.

To date, four additional films have been greenlit, forming part of what is now known as the Distorted Nostalgia Universe. Commencing from 2022, the initial pair of these flicks will focus on legendary characters from Disney animated classics that you might recognize.

Twisted Childhood Universe Movies

Both “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” and “Bambi: The Reckoning” are completed films, set to be released in 2025. However, specific release dates for either have not been announced as of now. Ahead of their official releases, Jagged Edge has shared previews for both movies; “Neverland Nightmare” received a full-length trailer, while “Bambi: The Reckoning” was given a one-minute teaser.

In a different phrasing, the actor and producer from “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2,” Scott Chambers (also known as Scott Jeffrey), previously directed the movie “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare.” Meanwhile, Dan Allen took charge of the production for “Bambi: The Reckoning.

In the Twisted Childhood Universe, Jagged Edge has revealed plans for two additional movies, marking their first significant push for a major franchise. Rhys Frake-Waterfield, director of Blood and Honey, will be back to direct Pinocchio: Unstrung, as well as the collaborative film titled Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.

Beyond functioning as a unification point for the initial batch of films, “Monsters Assemble” is also set to introduce fresh characters who are currently being developed for their own movies. Sleeping Beauty and the Mad Hatter have already been confirmed for this film, joining returning figures from the first five movies.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3?

After “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble”, it’s been announced that various other projects within the franchise are underway. Coming up is “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3”, which promises to incorporate more elements from the original Pooh stories, such as Heffalumps and Woozles. Additionally, “Awakening Sleeping Beauty”, “Snow White Returns”, and “Alice and the Mad Hatter” have been disclosed to be in some phase of production at Jagged Edge Productions, alongside a standalone Tigger movie that will serve as a spinoff from “Blood and Honey”.

If you’ve enjoyed the “Blood and Honey” movie series so far, there’s plenty more in store for you. The Twisted Childhood Universe doesn’t seem to be wrapping up anytime soon.
