Oshi no Ko officially confirmed for season 3 – first teaser released

As a seasoned anime enthusiast with over three decades of watching, discussing, and analyzing this captivating art form, I must say that the news of Oshi no Ko‘s return for Season 3 has left me both elated and apprehensive. Having closely followed its journey since its inception, I can’t help but feel a deep connection to these characters and their enthralling tale.

Among the latest anime releases, Oshi no Ko has been particularly thrilling, and it’s officially been greenlit for a third season!

Immediately following the airing of the Season 2 finale, the show’s official social media platforms announced that there would be additional episodes to come.

Besides the surprises, fans were given a fresh sneak peek and learned about two casting decisions: it was announced that Mamoru Miyano will lend his voice to Hikaru Kamiki, and Hina Kino will voice Tsukuyomi.

A release date has not yet been confirmed.

According to the manga penned by Aka Akasaka, the story of Oshi no Ko unfolds around a physician and his late patient, who have been reincarnated as twin offspring of a renowned Japanese pop star.

They have to grapple with the highs and lows of the entertainment industry as they grow up.

In the anime version, it’s Daisuke Hiramaki who takes charge as the director, while Kanna Hirayama lends her artistic touch to the characters, and the music is crafted by Takuro Iga.

Initially, the debut season received high praise, but the subsequent season of this series has faced harsher criticism. Some viewers believe that the anime has strayed from the elements that initially set it apart.

So, can season 3 live up to the hype? Only time will tell!

Oshi no Ko is available to stream on HIDIVE in the UK.
