As I delve into this intricate tapestry of love, betrayal, and self-discovery, I find myself both captivated and saddened by the tumultuous journey of Brittany and Jax. Their story is one that mirrors the rollercoaster ride of life itself – filled with highs and lows, laughter and tears, and a whole lot of unexpected twists and turns.
Jax Taylor is now preparing for a potential divorce from Brittany Cartwright, with legal guidance on the process this time around.
Under the guidance of attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, Taylor submitted an adjusted divorce petition to a court in Los Angeles on October 3, just a day after his representative explained to TopMob News that their client had made mistakes while filling out forms that are typically handled by trained legal professionals, and these errors would be corrected.
In the documents Taylor personally filed recently as a reply to his former spouse’s initial petition, he indicated that there was no legal marriage between him and Cartwright – a detail that is absent in the newly-acquired petition by TopMob News.
Cartright responded to the mistake posted by TopMob News on social media regarding their marital status. Underneath their October 2 Instagram post about the matter, The Valley’s star commented, “We have a legal marriage. Perhaps filling out forms is challenging for some individuals.
In response to Cartwright’s comments, Lance Bass, the one who conducted their 2019 wedding service, affirmed that indeed, he did sign the marriage documents as the officiant.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to clarify that initially, during Taylor’s previous divorce proceedings, he had specified in the paperwork that he desired Cartright to have both legal and physical custody of our son, Cruz. However, in his updated filing, Taylor has requested for us to be awarded joint legal custody of Cruz, with visitation privileges for him as well.
There is also a note underneath that reads, “final decision making authority to petitioner after meeting and conferring with respondent.”
Back in August, Cartwright initiated a divorce from Taylor, six months after they publicly announced their separation, which marked the end of their five-year marriage. In her divorce documents, she specified that their actual separation occurred on January 24th. Initially, Taylor stated in his initial response that it was September 26th, the same day he submitted his paperwork. However, in his revised petition, he adjusted the date to match the one provided by his ex.
Adjustments were additionally applied to different areas earlier; Taylor had requested the judge to postpone a decision on spousal support for Cartwright. However, in his revised submission, he asked for their mutual waiver of this requirement.
Additionally, Taylor is asking that any property he owned before his marriage with Cartright, as well as any acquired afterwards until their separation, be recognized as individual or separate property. He also mentioned that the exact nature and value of these assets, along with their community and quasi-community properties, have yet to be clarified.
Occasionally, Cartright discusses her and Taylor’s separation and how it affects their son, Cruz. In an interview with TopMob News in September, she mentioned that she and her former partner are jointly raising their son.
At the 2024 Daytime Beauty Awards held at L.A.’s Autry Museum, she expressed that they would prioritize Jax above all else. She assured everyone that no matter what challenges they faced, their love for him would ensure everything worked out smoothly. In other words, regardless of any disagreements between her and Jax, it wouldn’t affect Cruz or become an issue.
Look back at a timeline of Taylor and Cartwright’s breakup…
Prior to their marriage, Jax Taylor was unfaithful to Brittany Cartwright in the year 2017, as he engaged in a romantic liaison with a previous SUR server, Faith Stowers.
On the show Vanderpump Rules, Jax confessed that he had been caught cheating before. He mentioned that in previous situations, he had spent many months denying the allegations, but this approach didn’t benefit him.
However, though Brittany had broken up with him after being devastated, they reconciled several months later and ultimately tied the knot in 2020.
Skip ahead to February 2024, Brittany revealed that she and Jax, their two-year-old son’s parents (named Cruz), had parted ways following four years of matrimony.
The individual from Kentucky admitted that marriages can be incredibly challenging, and they’ve had a particularly tough year. On their podcast, When Reality Hits, they revealed that they and their partner, Jax, have chosen to spend some time apart. To prioritize their mental well-being, this person decided to move into a different residence.
Brittany stated, “I’m handling each day as it comes, and I can’t predict the future, but for now, all my attention is centered around being an excellent mother to little Cruz.
A month down the line, the fissures in the couple’s relationship grew increasingly obvious following the release of the teaser by Bravo for their latest show titled “The Valley“.
Brittany confessed that she doesn’t sense any romantic feelings from him and they haven’t been intimate for a while. Struggling with the challenges of marriage, Jax echoed, “Being married can be tough sometimes.
Plus, costar Janet Caperna teased in the clip, “There’s a rumor about Jax cheating online.”
However, Jax slammed allegations of infidelity days after the trailer release.
He shared with TopMob News at the premiere of “The Valley” on March 14 that there are some minor hiccups in their communication. However, he emphasized that there is no cheating or infidelity involved. Instead, it’s simply a matter of communication. It might seem surprising, but sometimes people just don’t see eye-to-eye and that’s part of life.
He mentioned, “We cross paths daily,” and for the unique aspect, “we simply don’t share a bedroom at night.” That’s about it.
Contrary to speculation, Brittany clarified that Jax’s infidelity was not the reason for their split; instead, she disclosed the accurate sequence of events leading up to their separation.
35-year-old shared with TopMob News on March 18 that a severe argument occurred and as a result, they decided to gather their belongings. Since January 24, they have been living at an Airbnb.
She mentioned that she’s taking this action to preserve her peace of mind, and she feels quite firm about her choice to take a break for a while.
Regardless of their personal issues, the separated pair found common ground: Both were committed to making decisions that served their two-year-old child’s best interests.
Jax made it clear to TopMob that there’s no dispute between them – he’s clearly number one. What matters most is ensuring the child has a strong foundation with two loving parents who adore him unconditionally. Whether our relationship continues or not, he’ll have an amazing life ahead of him.
Regarding their escalating fights, Brittany concurred, ” frankly, I don’t wish for our son to experience such a lifestyle. I hope he won’t perceive it as normal.
Brittany admitted in March that “there’s always hope,” but she just needs Jax to put in the work.
Brittany expressed to TopMob that she doubts anyone else will ever love Jax as deeply as she has, given their shared history and unwavering bond. She hinted at the possibility of reconciliation if certain changes are made, but for now, she’s focusing on self-discovery. She feels empowered by her decision to put herself first and prioritizes her mental health above all else.
One individual who didn’t seem too surprised by Jax and Brittany’s split was none other than their previous SUR boss, Lisa Vanderpump.
The former Real Housewife mentioned that many people had predicted their marriage wouldn’t endure, but she had always preferred not to jump to conclusions about its longevity.
She mentioned that she wasn’t certain about the cause, but she thought it might have been connected to Jax’s misconduct. Generally, actions in the future are often a reflection of what happened in the past.
According to their long-standing companion Scheana Shay, expressed in an interview with TopMob News on March 23rd, she believes that it’s the most suitable outcome for the separation. She feels that she deserves more and a partner who will value and respect her.
And the couple’s The Valley costar Kristen Doute agreed with Scheana.
Kristen acknowledged that she’s proud of Brittany for establishing boundaries to make choices for herself. However, she’s optimistic they can resolve their issues. But it’s up to Jax to deal with it, not Brittany.
In my latest musings on the vibrant world of The Valley, I found myself reflecting on an intriguing turn of events during the season finale on June 4. It was a moment when Brittany boldly addressed Jax about certain harsh words he’s been rumored to have spoken in private, adding another layer of drama to their already captivating storyline.
According to Kristen Doute, he acknowledged his behavior by saying, “Am I treating you badly? Yes, I am aware I can be cruel. Have I called you fat and accused you of laziness, and told you that your friends will disappear if you two split?
In June, TopMob News exclusively reported that Brittany stated, “We had planned to gauge reactions from others if the situation called for it,” implying a willingness to explore options. She acknowledged that this approach might seem unusual or even a bit crazy to many, but it was what she and her team intended to do.
In July, Jax confided that he was planning to receive hospital care for his mental health concerns, as Brittany had urged him for years to attend therapy sessions.
The VPR alum mainly credited son Cruz as the reason he saught professional help.
In his Instagram post dated July 31, Jax expressed, “Striving to improve for you, my friend,” accompanied by a picture of him kissing the baby’s cheek. “I adore you.
Seven months following their separation announcement, Brittany officially ended the relationship in August 2024 by filing a divorce petition. The court documents, obtained by TopMob, stated “irreconcilable differences” as the reason. She sought primary legal and physical custody of their son Cruz, while requesting visitation rights for Jax.
According to court records acquired by TopMob News last October, Jax petitioned for Brittany to receive full legal and residential rights regarding their shared son, Cruz.
Despite the fact that Jax stated in his filing that he and Brittany got married in June 2019, he also indicated in the same document that he disagrees with the idea that they ever had a legal marriage or domestic partnership.
Later on, TopMob News was informed by his representative that although Jax had some mistakes in filling out forms typically handled by professional lawyers, these mistakes would be swiftly corrected.
After there was confusion about Jax and Brittany’s marital status due to his ambiguous reaction to her divorce filing, Brittany clarified the situation.
She pointed out that they are officially wed, adding a hint of understanding towards those who might find the process challenging when it comes to filling out paperwork. (TopMob News’ Instagram post about Jax’s response mix-up)
