Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Emma Brungardt Dead at 19 After Car Crash

As someone who has followed Emma Brungardt’s journey and witnessed her bright future unfold in the rodeo community, I am deeply saddened by the news of her untimely passing. Emma was more than just a rising star; she was a beacon of positivity and resilience, always radiating a contagious smile that brightened everyone’s day.

The rodeo community has lost a rising star.

19-year-old Emm Brungardt, the winner of the 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Pageant, tragically passed away in a car accident on October 4th. This unfortunate event was confirmed by her school, Colby Community College.

Last night, the school’s Facebook update shared that Emma, together with four other team members and an additional individual, were unfortunately involved in a car accident. Tragically, Emma did not survive. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the affected families during this difficult time.

Emma was a kind-hearted individual, always uplifting others with her sunny disposition,” the statement went on. “Her warmth and spirit shall continue to shine brightly within and beyond the rodeo grounds.

As stated in a crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Emma was among six passengers in a pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old individual. This vehicle veered off the road while passing through an intersection of a private drive, eventually colliding with a row of trees. The report indicates that the truck overturned before it finally came to a stop upright.

According to The Wichita Eagle, the vehicle also contained four of Emma’s Colby Rodeo teammates.

According to the accident report, Emma tragically lost her life due to severe injuries at the site itself. The other five passengers reported pain and were transported to Citizens Medical Center for potential injuries.

Emma hails from the town of Blue Rapids in Kansas, and she pursued her education at Colby University with a rodeo scholarship. During her time there, she actively participated in events like barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying.

Reminiscing about her life after hearing the sad news, I, as a fervent admirer, took a moment to reflect on the remarkable legacy our former Miss Rodeo Kansas Pageant titleholder left behind.

In my perspective, Emma truly epitomized the essence of a genuine rodeo queen and equestrian. As a devoted follower, I’ve witnessed her consistently surpassing expectations, embodying more than just the role she held.

Furthermore, they expressed, ‘We’ll deeply feel the absence of her infectious grin and extraordinary spirit. Lend support to her loved ones in the form of prayers as they face this hard-to-fathom sorrow.’

According to a comment made on the tribute, ‘She was truly extraordinary. In every conceivable manner, she particularly shone as a cowgirl.’
