As a seasoned viewer of daytime soaps, having watched my fair share of dramatic twists and turns, I must say that this upcoming week on Emmerdale looks particularly gripping. The passing of Zak Dingle will undoubtedly stir emotions among fans, and the appearance of a long-lost relative promises to add another layer of intrigue to the storyline.
This article explores the topic of domestic abuse, specifically coercive control, which could be distressing for certain readers.
As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but share some intriguing news about an upcoming series. It’s been whispered that Zak Dingle, a character we’ve grown fond of (portrayed by the late Steve Halliwell), has departed from our screens. However, the plot thickens when a puzzling relative makes an appearance at his funeral, adding yet another layer of suspense to the storyline!
At the moment, Daisy Campbell’s character, Amelia Spencer, is content with her ongoing relationship, yet she doesn’t realize the peril she finds herself in.
In another location, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) reneges on his pledge regarding his covert earning method, which puts Caleb Miligan (William Ash) in a difficult position as he has to deal with an angry Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
Read on below for all your Emmerdale spoilers from 14th – 18th October 2o24.
4 Emmerdale spoilers next week
1. Long-lost Dingle arrives as Zak is laid to rest
As a passionate film enthusiast, I found myself immersed in the dramatic tale unfolding before me, where Moira Dingle, portrayed by Natalie J. Robb, experiences a seizure while preparing breakfast. The plot thickens as she learns about a scheduled operation for the following day.
However, upon Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) surprising return from Scotland, Moira chooses not to share her recent developments with him.
In short order, Moira takes a call from her stepdaughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), who delivers the heartbreaking tidings that Zak is no more. Cain breaks the news of Zak’s demise to those close to him.

Today is a sorrowful day for the clan and the entire village. Even Kim Tate (Claire King), who was saddened to learn about Zak’s death, finds solace in the arms of her estranged husband, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), during this difficult time.
Outside, Cain, Sam Dingle (James Hooton), and Belle King (Eden Taylor-Draper) share memories, left reeling by the passing of their dear father. As Sam and Cain depart for Scotland to retrieve Zak, they receive a sentimental farewell.

Ash Palmisciano’s character, Matty Barton, confronts Moira about postponing her operation, while the Dingles pay tribute to Zak by raising a toast at their Wishing Well cottage residence.
On the day of the funeral, an unexpected relative shows up at the cemetery, leaving the family in a state of surprise. However, who could this mysterious figure be?
2. Amelia Spencer sticks with abuser Tom King

As a cinephile, I’m absolutely buzzing when Tom King, played by the charismatic James Chase, arranges a date for us. It feels like our rocky patch over the past few weeks has finally cleared up, and we’re back on the path to movie magic together!
However, as Tom disguises his real character from Amelia, could his growing irritability eventually make her realize the truth about him?
Tom’s former spouse, Belle, has attempted to convey to Amelia that Tom has exerted control over her, monitored her activities, and physically harmed her since their marriage began; however, thus far, Amelia has been unwilling to accept this truth. What lengths will these circumstances progress to?

3. Billy Fletcher continues with dodgy boxing plan

Billy confesses to Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) that he might need to engage in another illegal bout, and pleads with him to maintain confidentiality about it.
Mack says not only will he not say anything, but he wants to help!
The advancement between Will and Dawn Fletcher (played by Olivia Bromley) persists, as he hands over money and assures her that he’ll work out a loan arrangement for her.
Simultaneously, Billy continues to hide his truth, fully resolved to proceed with his upcoming illegal boxing bout as a means to enhance Dawn’s and their children’s lives. However, one must wonder if he’s risking his own life for this endeavor.
4. Ruby Fox-Miligan confronts Caleb Miligan amid plot to destroy Kim Tate

As Kim is caught off guard by another touching moment with Will, Caleb finds himself in a tight spot due to his deception towards the bank. The two men, Will and Caleb, encourage one another as they work together to undermine Kim’s position.
When Kim requests Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) to relocate to Home Farm, Will discusses with Caleb the idea of taking action against Kim in the near future.
Despite Caleb’s distraction, Ruby, upon receiving a delivery of her mother’s ashes, makes an immediate, emotional choice regarding their disposal.

Instead of drowning her sorrows at the pub, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) urges Ruby to seek out Helen’s last words from the hospital as a means to achieve closure.
In my understanding, it turned out that Helen was clinging onto a last-ditch reconciliation on her deathbed – and I discovered that Caleb had paid her a visit prior to her passing.
As Ruby confronts deceitful Caleb, how will he get out of this one?
