Martha Stewart Shares Her Issue With "Trad Wife" Phenomenon

As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my apron, I must say that Martha Stewart‘s perspective on modern social media trends is both refreshing and insightful. The way she navigates the digital landscape, with its ever-evolving terminologies and norms, is truly commendable.

Martha Stewart is taking issue with some internet lingo.

Originally known for her daytime show where she offered cooking, hosting, and lifestyle tips long before the advent of the iPhone, the former host now expresses criticism towards how social media users critique influencers who provide homemaking advice. Specifically, the 83-year-old is not fond of the term “Trad Wife,” a label frequently used for social media personalities whose content aligns with traditional female roles such as a wife, homemaker, and stay-at-home mom.

TopMob News was informed at the Hamptons International Film Festival on October 4th that she expressed her dislike for the name.

However, Martha is quite fond of several well-known “Trad Wife” personalities, with Hannah Neeleman, better known as Ballerina Farm, being one she admires greatly.

Martha praised the girl from the ranch at the premiere of her documentary ‘Martha’, which will be available on Netflix starting October 30. She said, “That girl is amazing. Truly remarkable.

In fact, the podcast host has nothing negative to say about the controversial influencer, noting,”She’s a cool wife and mother and a cook. And she raises cows. What’s bad about that?” (Tune into TopMob News on Oct. 7 to see Martha’s full interview.)

Similar to Martha Stewart, Hannah and her husband Daniel Neeleman, who have been married for 12 years, aren’t fond of being labeled as a “Traditional Wife”. However, Hannah recognizes that others might apply this term when referring to her role on the farm.

As a fervent enthusiast, I wouldn’t say I fully embody its essence, as expressed to The Times in July. You see, we maintain traditional values, such as being a male-female duo who raise children together. Yet, I can’t help but feel that we are blazing trails previously uncharted.

“We’re co-CEOs,” Daniel added. “We are.”

Due to criticism they’ve faced online, the parents – who have children Henry (12), Charles (10), George (9), Frances (7), Lois (5), Martha (3), Mabel (2), and Flora (8 months) – found it necessary to clarify their views on a particular topic, as some people persist in labeling her as a “Traditional Wife.

She expressed on Instagram in July that this statement was completely contrary to reality. For Daniel and herself, their top priorities in life are faith and family; everything else takes a back seat.

And Hannah emphasized that her relationship with Daniel is 100% an equal, loving partnership.

13 years ago, the most extraordinary moment in my life unfolded as I exchanged vows with Daniel, my beloved. Since then, we’ve embarked on an incredible journey together – creating a business from the ground up, nurturing eight precious souls into the world, and always placing our marriage at the heart of it all.
