The Last Drive-In Reveals Two New Specials Coming Very Soon

As a seasoned horror enthusiast who has been through the grueling nights of countless slasher flicks and paranormal possessions, I can confidently say that the upcoming special episodes of “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” have sent shivers down my spine in anticipation. The announcement of Adrienne King’s guest appearance on the first special is akin to a dream come true for any Friday the 13th fan, and I can barely contain my excitement.

Fans of horror shows may need to be patient for the arrival of the new season of “The Last Drive-In” on Shudder, but host Joe Bob Briggs is set to return with not just one, but two special episodes in the coming weeks. It’s been announced that Shudder and AMC will be airing these two unique installments of “The Last Drive-In“, with one episode scheduled for cable broadcast and featuring a surprise appearance from a renowned slasher icon.

Joe Bob Briggs’ show, “The Last Drive-In,” is set to broadcast two unique episodes in the month of October. The first event falls under AMC’s annual Fearfest marathon, scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th. This special edition will delve into the “Friday the 13th” series, with Briggs presenting a double bill featuring the 1980 and 1981 installments of “Friday the 13th.” The second special, titled “Joe Bob’s Beezlebub Bash,” will be aired live on Shudder and AMC+ on Friday, October 25th. As of now, the movies for this episode have not been disclosed and will probably only be revealed during its live broadcast.

Not only is the initial Joe Bob special airing live during AMC’s Fearfest, but it’s particularly significant because Adrienne King, the original Final Girl of the Friday the 13th series, will be making a special appearance. Known for her role as Alice in the first movie, King had a close encounter with the real killer, Pamela Vorhees. She returned to the franchise in Part 2, appearing at the start before meeting her demise at the hands of the grown Jason Vorhees.

The “Friday the 13th Last Drive-In” special is set to air at 8pm ET on Wednesday evening. Additionally, segments featuring Briggs, including those with King as a guest, will be available for on-demand viewing on both Shudder and AMC+ starting from October 13th.

The fresh information on these latest offerings follows after Shudder and AMC have reinstated The Last Drive-In With Joe Bob Briggs for a sixth term. This renewal announcement was made by Briggs himself, a day prior to the six-film “Nightmareathon” in late August.
