As a die-hard fan of action-packed movies and a connoisseur of Michael Bay and Will Smith collaborations, I can’t help but feel my heart racing with anticipation! The announcement that they are reuniting for “Fast and Loose,” an upcoming Netflix original, has me absolutely thrilled.

Michael Bay is set to team up once more with lead actor Will Smith in the forthcoming action movie titled “Fast and Loose.” However, instead of hitting the big screen, this film will be an original production for Netflix. This collaboration follows Smith’s previous work with Netflix, as he starred in their film “Bright.” Previously, Bay directed “6 Underground” also for Netflix. The upcoming movie will be produced and directed by Bay, based on a script penned by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson.

At this point, specifics about the cast or launch date for the film titled “Fast and Loose” are still unknown, but Deadline, who initially shared the casting news, hints that it could be the next collaboration between directors Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer. These two filmmakers previously teamed up on the 1995 movie “Bad Boys,” and have maintained a friendship since then. Bay directed the first two “Bad Boys” films, while producing the subsequent ones.

According to the article in Deadline, “Fast and Loose” is about a man who finds himself in Tijuana without any recollection of his past. As he reconstructs his history, he uncovers that he has been leading two contrasting lives – one as a crime boss and the other as an undercover agent for the CIA.

As a die-hard fan, it looks like Smith might take center stage in this upcoming film, seeing as there’s no word on who else is joining the cast or when we can expect its release. For now, I’m just eagerly awaiting more details about the project!

I had the privilege of co-starring in one of this year’s biggest blockbusters, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”. Just like the original “Bad Boys” back in 1995 propelled me to stardom, this sequel served as my comeback hit after a brief period on the sidelines following an unfortunate incident at the Academy Awards in 2022. After the unfortunate altercation with Chris Rock, many of my upcoming roles either got postponed or canceled. But with “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”, I’ve found my way back onto the silver screen and I couldn’t be more excited!

Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, in partnership with 87North, will be responsible for the film’s production, as reported by Deadline, with Smith participating. Jon Mone, Co-President and Head of Motion Pictures at Westbrook Studios, along with Ryan Shimazaki, are said to be in discussions to produce the project for Westbrook and James Lassiter. Previously, Westbrook was a producer on “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”.

For the film studio, STXfilms, Robert Simonds and Noah Fogelson will serve as executive producers. Additionally, Barry Waldman will take on this role as well.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die recently arrived on physical media, and a sequel is currently in the works.

Jerry Bruckheimer stated this summer that while we’ve talked about projects, he wants to observe their performance at the box office first, and there will likely be more discussions this week. When asked about his history with box office successes and failures, Bruckheimer mentioned that he doesn’t have a specific timeline, but it’s common for movies expected to do well to underperform, while unexpected hits sometimes emerge. He explained that the audience is always ready for something engaging, and it’s our job to provide them with what they desire. However, we can’t predict exactly what that will be; we just strive to deliver our best.
