As a seasoned movie buff with over three decades of television-watching under my belt, I must say that the longevity of NCIS is truly commendable. The show’s ability to reinvent itself while maintaining its core essence is a testament to its quality. The cliffhanger in the season 21 finale has left me, and millions of other viewers, eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the lives of our favorite characters.
Despite numerous TV series being canceled, the American procedural show NCIS is gearing up for its 22nd season, an encouraging development given the events that transpired in the Season 21 finale, marking a significant milestone as it was also the 1,000th episode for the franchise.
Following their daring efforts to unravel three sea-bound murders, the group made it back to solid ground. NCIS season 22 release date: When will it air?
The new season arrives on US screens on Monday 14th October on CBS.
That’s also when new spin-off NCIS: Origins makes its debut.
There is currently no confirmed UK release date for either.
NCIS season 22 cast: Who’s returning?
In the final episode of season 21, Agent Jessica Knight, portrayed by Katrina Law, was given an unexpected turn when she accepted a position in California. The showrunner, Steven D Binder, has remained cryptic regarding her potential role in the subsequent seasons.
In essence, Binder mentioned to TVLine that an arrangement was established over there. Furthermore, he hinted at our history of surprises, suggesting that the outcome might be unpredictable.
“Occasionally, individuals gave the impression of leaving us, but it was later discovered they hadn’t, and other times, people simply vanished without a trace, much like the character Gibbs.” (This version aims to maintain the original meaning while using simpler language and a more conversational tone.)
