Red Dead Redemption PC Requirements Revealed

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can say with certainty that the return of Red Dead Redemption to PC is like a long-lost friend coming home. The original game was a masterpiece, and the opportunity to revisit its Wild West world on my preferred platform is nothing short of exhilarating.

After more than 15 years since its initial release, the original “Red Dead Redemption” is finally making its way to personal computers, as confirmed by Rockstar Games after rumors surfaced earlier. The studio has officially announced that their award-winning 2010 open-world Wild West game and its “Undead Nightmare” expansion pack will be available on PC platforms. Additionally, the system requirements for running the game on these platforms have been unveiled, as per the information provided on its Steam page.

Despite being more than a decade and a half old, “Red Dead Redemption” only functions on Windows 10 or later versions. To run it at minimum settings, you’ll need either an i5-4670 or an FX-9590 processor, as well as a GeForce GTX 960 or a Radeon R7 360 graphics card. If you want to play it on recommended settings, you’ll need a more powerful setup: either an i5-8500 or a Ryzen 5 3500X processor, along with an RTX 2070 or an R 5700 XT graphics card. In addition to these requirements, you’ll also need at least 8 GB of RAM and around 12 GB of free storage space. An SSD is suggested for the recommended settings. For detailed specifications, check out the full system requirements below.

The western-themed games, Red Dead Redemption and its spin-off, Undead Nightmare, will be playable on PCs starting October 29th. At present, they can also be found on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
