Invincible Fight Girl Finally Locks in Adult Swim Release Date

As a seasoned gamer and animation enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that the news about “Invincible Fight Girl” has certainly piqued my interest. Having grown up on Cartoon Network classics like “Samurai Jack” and “Teen Titans,” it’s intriguing to see one of their long-awaited projects finally come to fruition, albeit with a shift to Adult Swim.

The long-awaited animated series “Unbeatable Combat Girl” has set a release date for its premiere on Adult Swim, marking the culmination of several years in development from Cartoon Network Studios. Despite the turmoil at Warner Bros. Discovery, it seemed like “Unbeatable Combat Girl” was one of those projects that had been put on hold due to a lack of updates. However, things have picked up steam over the past couple of years with some significant announcements.

Back in San Diego Comic-Con 2024, “Invincible Fight Girl,” a freshly announced animation project, was unveiled by Adult Swim. The first episode was even live-streamed online, causing quite a stir among fans. This sudden shift from Cartoon Network to Adult Swim had everyone talking, and now it’s official – the series will premiere on Adult Swim as part of their Toonami programming, starting on November 2nd. For a sneak peek, you can watch the trailer for this new animated series below.

Invincible Fight Girl Gets Release Date

On Saturday, November 2nd at midnight, Toonami will premiere “Invincible Fight Girl”, a brand new half-hour animated series from Cartoon Network Studios, created by Juston Gordon-Montgomery (of DC Super Hero Girls fame). This action-packed show revolves around the aspirations of its main character, Andy, who aspires to become the greatest wrestler ever. You can catch the first two episodes on Toonami, with more episodes available for streaming on Max the very next day.

She lives in a fierce world ruled by wrestling, but is born without those abilities and on track to become an accountant like her parents. Fighting her way up the ladder, fans will see Andy take on the name “Fight Girl” as she increasingly wrestles against bigger and tougher opponents to make a name for herself. But with the series’ move to Adult Swim, fans have been curious to see how the Cartoon Network animated series blends into the Toonami block much like how My Adventures with Superman was testing the blocks’ limits during its own run in the past couple of years.

Invincible Fight Girl Shifts to Adult Swim

Over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed a significant growth in Adult Swim’s programming on Cartoon Network. Not only have they extended their broadcast by an extra two hours, but they’ve also introduced new blocks like Checkered Past during the week. This expansion has brought about shows that you wouldn’t typically find on Adult Swim, and Invincible Fight Girl is one of them. It’s exactly what Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim, mentioned about its debut.

Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim, shared that as their network has grown, so too have the types of programs they can present to viewers. The series ‘Invincible Fight Girl’ is a standout example of this evolution – it seamlessly combines captivating storytelling with stunning animation and direction. This show serves as a testament to Juston’s creativity and skill, offering a mix of humor, excitement, and inspiration that resonates deeply with audiences. Toonami has been known for airing unexpected action cartoons in the past, so this shift in programming isn’t entirely novel. However, it does provide an opportunity for more shows to be produced and broadcast, as creators can now explore a broader range of possibilities.
