As an ardent fan who’s seen more EastEnders episodes than I care to admit, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia watching Cindy Beale navigate her romantic entanglements once again. The woman has had more relationships on Albert Square than a certain Mr. Bean has had beans!
The misfortune that surrounds Cindy Beale, portrayed by Michelle Collins, is persistent – and today on EastEnders, she encountered a tricky predicament.
Yesterday, following Cindy and Ian’s (Adam Woodyatt) engagement announcement, I found myself in a bit of a somber mood. David Wicks (Michael French) seems to be struggling to grasp the reasons behind her commitment to Ian, just as Junior (Micah Balfour) finds himself equally puzzled, yearning for something more with his dad’s former wife. It’s an intriguing turn of events in our favorite soap!
Cindy was in a pickle with three of her flames running around Albert Square.
However, surprisingly, she chose to stay loyal to her partner and disregarded any unfavorable remarks from David.
Walking hand-in-hand with Ian on their way to the engagement party, Cindy secretly hoped that her past romance found lasting happiness, just in case they might never cross paths again.
David, feeling a bit down, stopped by The Vic for a drink before departing Walford temporarily. However, he found himself drawn into an argument with Junior, who had been causing trouble for his daughter, Bianca (Patsy Palmer).
David advised him to keep his distance from his daughter, yet mischievous Junior found it hard not to tease him, even going so far as making inappropriate remarks about Beatrice.
Under tense circumstances, David ended up hitting Junior, which then triggered a brawl. It fell upon George to intervene and remove his son from the situation.
Junior headed outside and Cindy quickly followed him down an alley.
It appeared that Junior had developed feelings for Cindy, which led him to plead for more time with her. However, Cindy maintained that she was still going to wed Ian, but suggested they might continue their secret relationship in the meantime.
In response, they shared a kiss, yet their moment together was brief as David peeked around the corner and unexpectedly witnessed the scene.
Is the game up for Cindy and Junior?
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
