As a long-time fan of British television, I must say that the cast of Alma’s Not Normal is nothing short of impressive. Each actor brings a unique charm and depth to their respective roles, making this series a must-watch for anyone who appreciates well-crafted characters and compelling storytelling.
After a break, the second season of Alma’s Not Normal has returned, featuring Sophie Willan reprising her highly praised portrayal in the main role.
The first season was partly inspired by the actor’s real-life experiences of growing up in care and becoming an escort in order to fund her aspirations of working in the arts.
In this subsequent chapter, set three years on, we find Alma back in her native town of Bolton following her tenure with a traveling theater group. However, this experience turned out to be less transformative than initially anticipated.
Always hopeful, she remains steadfast in pursuing her ambition to become a renowned actor. However, a piece of information from her grandmother, Joan (Lorraine Ashbourne), might cause things to come to a standstill yet again.

Who is Lin? – Lin is Alma’s mom. She has been battling heroin addiction and associated mental health troubles ever since Alma was young, which has caused a rift between them as they grew older.
Despite facing constraints from overburdened public services and her personal pursuit of joy, Alma consistently takes time to assist and visit her mother whenever possible. Regrettably, at the conclusion of season 1, Lin experienced yet another debilitating relapse.
Has Siobhan Finneran appeared in any other shows or films? She’s a well-known British TV actor, best known for roles in Benidorm, Downton Abbey, Happy Valley, Harlan Coben’s The Stranger, and the second season of BBC prison drama Time. Lorraine Ashbourne plays Joan Nuthall

James Baxter plays Anthony
Anthony is Alma’s former partner whom she encounters on occasion. He often behaves impolitely towards her, showing little concern for her emotions, except when it benefits him.
