As I delve into the captivating lives of Christine Taylor and her family, I can’t help but be moved by their dedication to each other and their causes. With over two decades of marriage, Ben Stiller and Christine have built a beautiful life together, raising their two wonderful children, Ella and Quinlin, who are as unique as the roles they played in Tropic Thunder.

Ben Stiller‘s whole family knows how to serve up their best blue steel.

At the 2024 Make Equality Reality Gala held in New York City on October 8th, the actor famous for Zoolander appeared alongside his daughter, Ella Stiller, whom he has with his spouse Christine Taylor. Notably, at 22 years old, Ella displayed her maturity and growth.

The pair, father and daughter, coordinated their attire for the splendid occasion. They chose monochromatic black outfits, standing side by side as they smiled for the cameras on the red carpet at the event that celebrated women and influential figures advocating for greater gender parity.

Ben, aged 58 and father to 19-year-old Quinlin, jointly with Christine, sported a combination of a black shirt and suit for the event. Meanwhile, Ella opted for a stylish ensemble consisting of high-waisted black jeans, a black crop-top, and a silk blouse in the same color.

Five months following Ella’s graduation from The Juilliard School with a degree in acting, there was an uncommon appearance in public with her father.

She shared on Instagram on May 25th, “Yesterday I graduated with a BFA in Acting from Juilliard! I couldn’t be more ecstatic to be finished, or more proud of having endured, or more thankful for my family who stood by me every step of the way. Now I have a degree in make-believe!! Hooray!!!

As I embark on my journey into adulthood, it was only natural for me to find myself drawn towards the path paved by my parents in the world of acting – a choice that has long been expected, though never forced, by those who know me best.

In an interview with UsWeekly back in 2018, the actress from The Brady Bunch Movie expressed that she was born with a purpose, and she wouldn’t stand in her way. She described this young lady as being incredibly determined and headstrong, and these traits make her very happy.

Undeniably, she entered this world just like any other person, yet I firmly believe that residing in the vibrant cityscape of New York City, she’s had an extraordinary exposure to a myriad of life-changing experiences, performances, and events. This, I suspect, has instilled within her an insatiable passion – the showbiz bug.

Ella’s milestone achievement followed an up-and-down several years for her parents.

In 2000, Ben and Christine got married, but they parted ways in 2017. However, during the pandemic, they lived together as a family, and eventually, their love for each other was rekindled.

On The Drew Barrymore Show in March 2023, Christine shared with Drew Barrymore that she and Ben had begun to develop separately over time. She mentioned that when they decided to part ways, it wasn’t a decision they made lightly or wanted to discuss openly.

She mentioned, “We stumbled upon a chance to converse extensively, without any interruptions or diversions.

Over time, Ella frequently attended events with her father Ben, such as when she went with dad to the June 2023 premiere of the short film “Let Liv” at the Tribeca Film Festival, where her mother Christine acted. For this occasion, the three of them wore different black ensembles.

Before, Ella accompanied her father to several high-profile events such as the 2022 Emmys, the 2018 premiere of Free Solo, the 2017 premiere of The Meyerowitz Stories, and the opening night of Broadway’s Groundhog Day.

In the year 2019, the pair attended the Golden Globe Awards jointly to back the Showtime miniseries titled “Escape to Dannemora.” This series brought Ben a nomination in the category of Outstanding Directing.

In an interview with TopMob, Ben shared insights about collaborating with Ella on the set of “Escape to Dannemora“, expressing that he felt incredibly “proud” of his child.

The actor from Zoolander expressed great joy as things turned out smoothly. He mentioned that she treated him with utmost respect, which he valued since with a teenage daughter, he often finds himself saying, ‘Please act differently than at home! Let’s pretend we get along!’ It was truly a very positive encounter for the two of them.

Beyond her minor part in “Escape to Dannemora,” Ella has also popped up in “Hubie Halloween” and “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.” According to what Ben shared with TopMob in 2019, it appears that Ella harbors a strong curiosity for expanding her acting journey.

Additionally, Christine shared insights about Ella’s choice, expressing to Us Weekly in 2018 that she had never attempted to deter her from pursuing a path similar to her parents’.

Christine stated, “From birth, she had a purpose, and I wouldn’t dare hinder her. She is an independent, determined young woman who thrives on new experiences. Living in New York City has opened up a world of possibilities for her, fueling her passion. There’s no stopping her once she’s caught the bug, but I never actively encouraged it.

Previously, it was disclosed that Ella once discussed with him the fact that he wasn’t present during her childhood years because of work commitments.

He shared with Esquire, “She expresses herself clearly on the subject, but some of it is tough to listen to because it reminds me of times when I wasn’t present as much as I wished I could have been, like my parents [actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara] weren’t. I always thought I wouldn’t repeat their absences.

While it wasn’t pleasant for him to hear Ella expressing those thoughts, Ben emphasized the importance of understanding her emotions. Essentially, he was saying something along the lines of: “I get that it’s tough because I was also trying to balance my own aspirations and fulfill them.

Instead of jotting down his work-related absences, Ella and her brother Quinlin simply preferred to invest in quality moments with their father, as the actor explained further.

He clarified, “What I’ve discovered is that your children don’t evaluate your career success. It’s not reasonable to assume they care about it. Instead, they yearn for a parent who’s emotionally available and supportive. I believe that’s more important to them than me pursuing my creativity aggressively.

In an interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, Ben shared that his daughter, Ella, transformed him into a devoted Taylor Swift enthusiast. This transformation occurred as Ella played Taylor Swift songs during their driving lessons.

Ben shared that Taylor Swift’s music had a calming effect on her, and it did the same for him. As he delved deeper into her music, he became an avid fan, now proudly calling himself a Swiftie. He particularly enjoyed the recent albums like ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’, and was fascinated by the love triangle themes in songs such as ‘Cardigan’, ‘Betty’, and ‘August’. Interestingly, he noticed that the characters in these songs were named after Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children. He also mentioned the extended 10-minute version of ‘All Too Well’ from the vault.

Following the production of “Tropic Thunder” alongside Ben in 2007, Christine opted for a hiatus from acting to dedicate her time and attention to nurturing her children.

During an interview on “The Morning Call” in 2010, Christine casually expressed that it wasn’t a major choice for her. She explained that when she gave birth to Ella, her life took a dramatic turn. The depth of love she felt for this tiny being left her astonished. She yearned to be involved in every aspect of her child’s life. She didn’t want to miss any moments, given Ben’s busy work schedule. Thus, she felt it was crucial for one of them to provide the family with a sense of consistency.

Ben told Parade in 2016 that he felt “very fortunate” that Christine made that decision.

Ben and Christine have embraced a vegetarian lifestyle over a decade ago, and they’re trying to instill the same choice in their children. Back in 2012, Christine humorously shared that her kids look at their green drinks with skepticism, jokingly telling them to “join the party” instead of complaining. Their daughter seems to enjoy vegetables but is not fond of fruits, while their son prefers fruits over veggies. However, Christine remains optimistic, comparing this phase to a period when parents are uncool and then suddenly become trendy again. She added that they’re just sowing seeds, hoping that their children will eventually come around.

Although Ella frequently joins her parents at various events, Quinlin seldom participates in public functions, except for the Project A.L.S. Benefit in 2018 where he was accompanied by his family. Christine shared with Us Weekly at the event that this was his first time attending and he seemed to be enjoying himself. The following year, their daughter also attended the event for the first time, encouraging Quinlin to join as well. Over the past 20 years, the extended family they’ve built through shared passions like Project A.L.S., which Christine is a board member of, has watched their children grow up together. Ben and Christine make an effort to share their passions with their kids and consider it significant that Quinlin attended this event on a school night, allowing him to have some fun while learning about the organization at the same time.
