As a die-hard Doctor Who fan with over four decades of time vortex adventures under my belt, the news of Tom Baker and Louise Jameson reuniting for Big Finish’s The Fourth Doctor Adventures is nothing short of exhilarating! I vividly remember their electrifying chemistry in The Face of Evil back in 1977, a bond that transcended time and space.
In the upcoming box set from Big Finish, the Fourth Doctor, played by Tom Baker, and his former companion Leela, portrayed by Louise Jameson, are set to meet again.
A freshly unveiled image captures the former Doctor Who stars reunited, over 47 years since the broadcast of “The Face of Evil.” This reunion is in anticipation of their joint appearances in two upcoming stories slated for release in 2025.
Entitled “The Hellwood Inheritance and The Memory Thieves,” these two titles will be available together in a special Collector’s Edition, which can be purchased as a physical CD or downloaded digitally.
Composed by Alan Barnes, “The Hellwood Inheritance” follows the adventures of the Doctor and Leela as they find themselves pursued across the countryside by a headless knight. Only upon reaching Hellwood Manor do they come to understand their predicament.
With such a name, it’s hardly surprising they find out it’s the first safari park for ghosts.
In “The Memory Thieves,” penned by Phil Mulryne, the duo is set to reconnect again, yet this time, their TARDIS touches down in a locale that could potentially be under the threat of terrifying creatures.
Regarding their reunion, producer David Richardson expressed his delight: “Currently, I’m immersed in the Blu-ray edition of Doctor Who – Season 15, feeling fortunate, as we collaborate once more with Tom Baker and Louise Jameson at Big Finish on fresh tales across time and space.
The combination of the Fourth Doctor and Leela is simply delightful – the free-spirited Time Lord and the courageous warrior. It was a thrill to guide them through uncharted territories in the latest collection of The Fourth Doctor’s Journeys.
It’s not just them inside the TARDIS; Tamzin Outhwaite, known for her role on EastEnders, is also joining the crew. She’ll be playing the part of Joan Stone, an assistant to a psychic researcher.
In addition to Rosalie Craig (from The Serpent Queen) and Richard James (of Space Precinct), other characters appear elsewhere within this collection as well.
