James Buckley, Martin Clunes & Jonno Davies new film announced

As a seasoned film enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon learning about the upcoming comedy-drama, “Mother’s Pride.” With its stellar cast and the creative minds behind box office hits like “Finding Your Feet” and “Fisherman’s Friends,” this film promises to be a delightful addition to my cinematic journey.

Filming has concluded in Somerset and Wiltshire, UK, as the cast is revealed for “Mother’s Pride,” a heartwarming comedy-drama from the creators of hit movies such as “Finding Your Feet” and “Fisherman’s Friends.” The film will star James Buckley, Martin Clunes, and Jonno Davies.

Made in collaboration with Fred Films (known for Fisherman’s Friends: One and All, Finding Your Feet) and Flying Fish Productions, Mother’s Pride is a tale unfolding in a West Country tavern. The story revolves around a struggling pub, a fractured community, and a family grappling with grief who experience transformative change as they brew their own ales and compete in the Great British Beer Awards.

Packed with exceptional acting prowess, the impressive cast includes Jonno Davies (known for Better Man, Kingsman: The Secret Service) portraying Cal Harley, Martin Clunes (Doc Martin, Manhunt) as Mick Harley, and James Buckley (White Gold, The Inbetweeners) in the role of Jake Harley. Also featured are Gabriella Wilde (Poldark, Endless Love, Carrie) as Abi, Mark Addy (Game Of Thrones, The Full Monty) as Paxman, Lana Moorcroft (Fisherman’s Friends: One and All) as Romy, Luke Treadaway (Lockwood & Co, Fortitude, A Street Cat Named Bob) as Edward Pritchard, with Miles Jupp rounding out the cast as Jeremy (from The Full Monty).

Additionally featuring Lola Rose Maxwell (“Starstruck”), Josie Lawrence (“A Clever Woman”), Karl Collins (“Spent”), Stephen Leask (“Trigger Point”) and Emily Lloyd Saini (“Code 404”), “Mother’s Pride” is an upcoming film directed by Nick Moorcroft, who previously worked on “Fisherman’s Friends: One and All”. The screenplay for this film was written by both Nick Moorcroft (of “Finding Your Feet” and “Fisherman’s Friends”) and Meg Leonard (“Finding Your Feet”, “Fisherman’s Friends”). Set in the UK of 2025, the release date is yet to be confirmed but it’s expected to arrive during spring or summer.
