You’ll Burn for Bridgerton Star Nicola Coughlan’s Update on Season 4

Dearest Reader, as a dedicated follower of all things Bridgerton and a self-proclaimed Nicola Coughlan enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming fourth season! Having been fortunate enough to have attended the Time Next 100 event in New York City, I can attest that Nicola’s infectious energy is as captivating in person as it is on screen.

Dearest Gentle Reader…

As fans lament the absence of “Bridgerton” on their screens, lead actress for season three, Nicola Coughlan, assures viewers that the show’s fourth installment, directed by Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgarton) and featuring newcomer Yerin Ha as his love interest Sophie Baek, will be worth the wait.

At the Time Next 100 event in New York City on October 9, Nicola shared with TopMob News that “it’s going to be fantastic” as Luke and Yerin are currently engrossed in their tasks and enjoying themselves immensely.

In the latest episode, Penelope Featherington, who is 37 years old and played by an actor, had her shining moment with Luke Newton’s character, Colin Bridgerton, in season three. However, she has relished stepping into a less prominent role for this new series.

She acknowledged that it’s pleasant to step aside and let them handle everything on their own. “For almost a month, we’ve been filming non-stop,” she said. “However, since I can come and go as I please, I get to visit New York, something I couldn’t do last year, so it’s really enjoyable for me.

Regarding her future role in the series, she hinted playfully, “I’m convinced the show will keep running for eternity, as there are countless love stories yet to be shared.” (Join us tonight on TopMob News at 11 p.m., October 10, for more updates at the Time’s Next 100 event.)

Absolutely, season four is set to be just as heartwarming and captivating as any love story we’ve seen before, drawing inspiration from the fairy tale Cinderella as penned by author Julia Quinn in her novel “An Offer From a Gentleman”.

Just take it from the season’s two leading players.

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Luke, 36 years old, shared his thoughts on season four, stating, “The fascinating aspect of this season is the contrast between a classic fairy tale romance and the true grit of the world.

He went on to say, “Both statements are valid. It’s essential to grasp both aspects – the dreamy romantic side and the practical reality. The most authentic form of ‘true love’ often manifests right where these two meet.

As Yerin confessed to experiencing pre-series jitters, those anxieties vanished upon encountering her co-star for the first time.

She recounted to Tudum that Luke had his arms spread wide, waiting for a hug, which made her think, “Now I understand, I don’t have to worry about small details anymore. I can truly concentrate on building a genuine on-screen bond with him.

A significant portion of the screen time will focus on her character overcoming difficult obstacles, and this has only added to Yerin’s enthusiasm about the part she is playing.

“What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles,” she added. “Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”
