Strictly’s Tasha Ghouri gets first 10s of the season for “perfect” Charleston

As a seasoned Strictly Come Dancing enthusiast with over two decades of watching under my belt, let me tell you that this year’s competition is off to a stunning start! Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec have left us all spellbound with their impeccable Charleston performance. I must admit, I was taken aback by the triple 10s they received – it seems even the judges couldn’t resist their charm!

In just four weeks, one participant from this year’s Strictly Come Dancing series has received a perfect score of 10 not once, but three times!

On this past week’s performance, Tasha Ghouri and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec left the judges amazed with their energetic Charleston routine set to “Unhealthy” by Anne-Marie and Shania Twain, making them the final act of the show.

Shirley Ballas found nothing to criticize, Anton Du Beke described it as nearly flawless, and Motsi Mabuse thought it was amazingly wonderful!

Craig pointed out that Tasha’s left foot skipped over two spins, which earned them a score of 9 – however, the rest of the judges granted their initial 10s of the season to the other three contestants.

When Shirley declared her score, she exclaimed “even early birds get a 10 from me” – and it appears that her online followers concurred.

On Twitter, now known as X, a fan exclaimed, “Tasha truly deserves all 10s! She’s simply brilliant,” while another commented, “Wow, wow, wow! I thought Tasha might be stereotyped as a ballroom queen, but that Charleston was remarkable. An energetic performance that would exhaust even the Duracell bunny.

It’s not surprising that Tasha and Aljaž ended up in first place on the leaderboard, as they were five points ahead of Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas, as well as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones. Both pairs scored 34 points.

In a moving tribute during this week’s program, Sarah Hadland delivered an emotional act dedicated to her little girl. Meanwhile, Chris McCausland left spectators in awe with his captivating Salsa dance.

At the lower end of the rankings, we find Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk, along with Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez, both scoring 21 points. However, will they be performing in the dance-off the following evening, or will another pair step up to the dance floor?

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturdays and Sundays.
