Ariana Grande Brings Back Impressions of Céline Dion and More on SNL

As someone who has grown up with the tunes of Ariana Grande resonating through my speakers for what feels like decades now, I must say that her latest stint as SNL host was nothing short of spectacular. The way she seamlessly slipped into various iconic personas, from Britney Spears to Jennifer Coolidge, was a testament to her versatility and the depth of her admiration for these women.

As Ariana Grande took the stage for her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, all her past celebrity impression skills seemed to resurface.

Instantly plunging into my passionate tribute to kick off the October 12th episode, I couldn’t help but channel my inner pop idols for a brief moment. I’ve paid homage to Britney Spears in this manner several times on TV, most recently during my hosting stint in 2016, and this time was no exception. In the spirit of musical mashups, I threw Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani into the mix as well, creating a melodious medley that echoed through the airwaves.

However, the reenactments of the Wicked star’s interpretations of singer Celine Dion and actress Jennifer Coolidge were featured in separate sketches on their own.

As a lifestyle guru, I recently jumped into the ring, so to speak, by teaming up with my musical comrade for an amusing spoof ad for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). In this playful promotion, I crooned a witty take on the iconic 1996 hit single “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” from a fellow Grammy winner. It was a fun way to showcase our camaraderie and creativity!

Ariana remarked, “Numerous critics, each bald with their brightest shirt on,” she said, prior to singing, “It was misplaced a long time ago / Yet, everything is returning to my memory.

In another drawing, Chloe Fineman, who is also a member of SNL, took on the role of Jennifer, mimicking her as if she were giving herself a pep talk in front of a mirror for a Maybelline advertisement prior to a date.

Later on, a third character who resembles Jennifer is introduced, portrayed by former Saturday Night Live cast member Dana Carvey. Notably, the actor from Wayne’s World has started making appearances on the show in the role of President Joe Biden.

In addition, Ariana demonstrated her musical skills in a skit where she portrayed a teenager fixated on the unique scents of her closest friend’s home. Later, she uncovers a mysterious secret involving her friend’s father.

Additionally, Ariana showcased her talent for mimicking poor vocalists in one scene. In another skit, she, along with multiple female cast members, portrayed bridesmaids who enacted a satire of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” at a wedding. During this performance, they sung lyrics poking fun at the bride for being unfaithful to her groom.

On that particular episode, Stevie Nicks made a comeback as the musical performer, representing her reappearance on the program since her initial appearance on the NBC series back in 1983.
