Massive Game Freak Leak Includes Source Code for Multiple Pokemon Titles, Details on Unannounced Games

As a seasoned gamer with decades of Pokemon adventures under my belt, this recent data breach at Game Freak has left me both saddened and intrigued. On one hand, I’m concerned about the personal information leaked, particularly for those who have contributed to the series that has brought so much joy into my life.

Game Freak, creators of Pokemon, have experienced a major data breach. In an official statement, they’ve confirmed that after a recent hack, large amounts of data were stolen and are now being leaked online. The studio has reported that this data includes personal information of numerous individuals, not just employees but also others.

Additionally, it appears the leak encompasses substantial amounts of fresh data regarding past and future Pokémon titles (as reported by Nintendo Everything), such as the source code for Pokémon Black and White 2, along with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Regarding upcoming games, it seems development on the anticipated Pokémon Legends: Z-A (rumored to be developed under the codename Ikkaku) is nearly complete.

I’m thrilled to share that “Gaia” isn’t just one of the big Pokémon titles Game Freak is working on; it’s also the code name for the next mainline Pokémon title, often referred to as Gen 10 by fans. This exciting new chapter in the series is being crafted for a piece of hardware known as “Ounce,” which appears to be the codename for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 (or whatever it eventually gets named).

It appears that another MMO game, code-named Synapse, is currently under development, and the same studio (ILCA) responsible for creating Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is also working on this new project.
